What a neat car. I hate the luggage rack, but otherwise love the car. Looks great with the added on shaker.

The car has been for sale on and off for the last several years at auctions and online. I would not call it a correct restoration but a shinny restoration.

was posted not that long ago.
i commented before about the painted hood latch in spring makes me really question the quality of the work under that shiny paint.in my eyes this is a really really really huge red warning flag for something advertised as a top of the line restoration.

As far as WIW I'd say around 75k to a person that wants a OEM correct car. That leaves room to fix all of the things that are wrong. On the other hand to a person that doesn't know what they are looking at and is taken in by the color combo and shinny build maybe around 100k.

I like the luggage rack because it changes where you focus on the car. With the top up, the luggage rack makes it look like the top is chopped, as the distance from the height of the rack to the height of the A-pillar is smaller than from the beltline to the A-pillar.

I don't care for it because to me, even though it is factory, it looks like a cheesy JC Whitney add-on, very PT Cruiser-ish. Ruins the lines of the car. I feel the same about Go-Wings, especially on the 70 Charger.

I agree with this assessment. Sometimes I like the look of my 340-4spd rag with the rack, sometimes not,... but moreso with the top up.
That car really needs a stripe.

Don't mean to high jack this thread but mccannix - beautiful car. Do you mind if I ask you what size tires you are running in the front and back? Looks like F60 in back and E60 in front? - but can't tell. Thanks, Rob

Thank You, that is the exact combination I'm going to go with but wow, didn't realize how those big L's in the back make those F60's look small. I love it - thank you. Again, sorry, I will not post again in this thread. Rob

When it comes to the Charger, I am in agreement. When that car was designed, there was no spoiler add-on, so by 1970 when the option came about, it came off goofy.

I can tolerate it better on other 1970 B-bodies, especially because they were heavily facelifted to reflect a new style.

The owner who restored it is very meticulous when it comes to fit and finish. He's the type of guy who gets every squeak and rattle out of a car. Obviously it is not a correct restoration but it is a very nice cuda convertible. I seem to remember it not needing any major metal work prior to the resto. Quarters are original. Sharp eyed members will notice the lack of sound deadener but that was the previous owners mentality. "Scrape off that crap and finish it like it's the outside of the car".
