I know later cars ('71+ up) had a venting system that used A/C dashes but didn't actually have A/C. AMC used to do the same thing in the Hornet & Gremlin where they'd include the center A/C vents, but the car would not have A/C. I would imagine every manufacturer had a similar system. Bloody Mary, Full of Vodka, Blessed art thou among cocktails....

No strato vent offered on 70 B body. 70 Road Runner 383-4 4 speed FJ5 & black guts 70 Charger R/T 440-4 4 speed FJ5 & white guts

Either someone's "been there" and swapped parts around, or that was a big screw-up. FWIW, I once owned an original '70 Satellite - untouched original car - that had a Coronet-nameplate trim panel on its dash.
