I have a 1970 Challenger in serious need of a front end overhaul. Found a good deal on a new but unused QA1 K-member and control arms. so I am going to rebuild everything. I have a hemi from a 2005 300Cwas thinking about putting in place of the current 440. Wasn't there some a/c clearance issues with the car hemi's? Was it the K-member or motor mount? Anyone here have the Qa1 and a car hemi who can verify? I know the QA1 has a lot more room but dont want to have to worry about hacking up a tubular frame. Thanks

On my factory K member I had to trim one of the rubber engine mounts a little to not hit the block mounts, and I cut an ear off of the ac compressor for an extra bolt. Nothing major. I bet the tubular K would be easy to deal with.

My Build thread: Let the hemi swap begin!

I'd like to see how much the QA1 k-member allows for oil filter clearance.

Thanks. I thought it was something like that tried some searches but did not come up with much. That was the last block in my mind whether or not I should go Hemi.

I should have it installed soon going to change torsion bars and a couple other things just need to come up with some money. I will post some pics when I get it in.
