We had a great day today. I went to another teams dyno to test. I'm lucky to be able to do that just to compare there power to mine and we killed it. We were a tiny bit down at 9000 but from 9200 and up we have power to run with the best. I think the problem at 9000 is valve spring issue im pretty sure I can fix that with a .030 shim. Its funny when ever you got something going on around 9000 it always seems to be valve springs.

Great news!

I wonder if your valve spring or cam vendor could give you some spintron time to see what is going on at 9,000 rpm.

Good Luck at Indy-3

Alan, have you talked to Billy Godbolt at Comp Cams about valve springs? He seems to be the go to guy on that subject.

Alan,
When you’re testing on the dyno..... what’s the rpm range of the pull, and what rate are you using?

Most of the time 8600 to 10200. There are times I'll run it from 8600 the 10700 but not a lot of we don't like to tear up parts. 600 RPMs per second is the rate
