What are you using in your race Turbo 400 transmissions?
I heard type F works great in them.
Any input?

Well, I have experimented. A buddy gave me a 5gal bucket of AW32 hydraulic oil which is 20w, which is the same? as type F anyway?
Whatever the case, I have mixed it 50/50 with type F as it was free...LOL
My converter stalls at 2900 on the brake (NO chip) and it slips 8% at the finish line.
Follow Rosslers recommendation, best thing you can do.

After reading that, and knowing how expensive that transmission is;
I would just run one of the recommended racing transmission fluids (B&M or TCI).
It's not like your going to change the fluid every race day...

iagree I have an ATI TH400 and they recommend Type F so that's what I use. No issues with mine.

I run 400's in 2 cars. I run redline racing synthetic type F. No friction modifiers added.

I have also used John Deer Hy-gard. Thicker than type F.

I have no idea if any fluid is actually better than any other. I do know first hand that viscosity changes behavior.

Seems the turbo 400 takes less fluid than a torqueflite. Both have 8 inch converters. Am I wrong?

I picked up some TCI Max Shift today at Summit but I am not sure of the brand of Ftype I will get if any.
