I have read that A body small block headers will fit in a d100 with a small block.

Anyone ever try any of the car big block options?

I am wondering if the Hedman Elites B&E body might work without reinventing the wheel.

I have 2 sets. 79250

headman makes a good BB header for the trucks 79250 fair price and well made. good fit ball/cone collectors.

the car headers will fit and some need more of the frame trimmed than others to be used. IMHO the fit is not worth the cutting and fitment issues.

for a small block truck you can use a headman also.

2x SB only truck chassis 79080

2x & 4x4 SB truck chassis 79170

2x & 4x4 BB truck chassis 79250

I have both sets for a SB along with the 2 sets of BB truck headers. I recommend the correct header for trucks = less headache and better fitment.

I was looking at getting a set of Hedman Elite headers with the thicker flanges and pipes. Do you have any issues with your headers and gaskets? I had a set of regular small block hooker headers on my old Challenger and was replacing starters and gaskets way too often. Any issues like that with your truck headers?

no issues with mine, I use permatex copper rtv on both side of my gaskets and let cure 24 hrs before running. ball and cone collectors so no gaskets down low to blow out. no issues with the flanges on the regular hedmans.

on my 88 D100 440 engine they have been on with no leaks since 2010. sealed them with copper rtv and let cure be running them with no issues and no re-torque on studs.

my 318 has had them on 2 yrs now and just redid my 2nd set on the daily driver few months ago now.

no issues with starter but I run the small mini starters from 93 DAKOTA 5.2. you can R&R it most times with out removing the headers. (My trans lines are the biggest hassles R&R on starters.

check specs on headers as some do say some can not use the larger high torque starters and to use a low torque or mini starter. maybe it was hooker headers?

IMHO, I like the headmans and have no issues
