I am looking at golf carts that will be able to tow my race car if needed. The Dart tows like its got the brakes on so i need good power. I average less than five or six runs on a good day and can drive the car to the line most of the time. If possible i want to drive the cart in through the side door. No room to go lengthwise not to mention i couldn't get to the winch if i did.My side door on the trailer is 46.5 inch opening which with some triming and mods i could get it out to 47.5 inch. I have 96.5 inch length to work with.
So far i am considering EZ GO RXV. But gas or electric? I would get the AC 48v if i go electric. Opinions? Other options?

I have a EZGO RXV, and like it. I prefer it over the older model. Just finished nicer,. The single cylinder engine has plenty of power, but does make more noise than the older twins. It definitely faster than the older models.

Heat kills batteries... and I live in an oven, so I chose gas. Most I’ve spoke with on this subject have said gas was the way to go. I just eyeballed my EZ-Go (with a tape measure) and I think if you were careful you could get it through a 46” opening. I’ve towed my Duster and even a 70 Road Runner and it got the job done.

On my winch, it’s mounted on the side under one of my cabinets and I use a removable pin/pulley in the center of the floor. Just another angle to think about.

I know Shiloh (Whitedart) has a “Prius” golf cart.... but he’s a kalifornia tree hugger type anyways... laugh2 . Honestly, I think he likes it and I’ve never heard him complain about it.

Gas all the way. Make a pusher bar works really nice.

I have seen several racers switch to Smart Cars. You also have a vehicle available to use to leave the track if you like.

Driving home with a 2020 Yamaha Drive2 quietech efi. $7200 out the door with lights and windshield. Seemed like a decent deal. From Golf Cars of Minnesota located in St Paul. Thanks everybody. I am happy with the whisper quiet motor in this cart. Plus efi and 45mpg . So now the mrs will be happy!

Thanks Mike. I just found out i have to drive the cart in the big door. The sunroof is too hi for the side door. But the trailer is just long enough to make it all work lengthwise.

On my trailer (a 43' but with LQ) my car and cart JUST fits.. I think I have 4" to play with.. IF
you wanted you could lower the roof on the cart.. I did that to mine but my cart I bought used
