Cass, you da man! You sent it when we first talked about it so it got here today! Now I can install the master and drop in the engine this weekend. Thanks for the SUPER FAST Service. This master looks great. It comes with nice paint to boot. Ready to install.

I have ordered three master cly so far from Rock auto and Napa and have received the casting with old universal core that has the provisions for the exits on BOTH sides. All of the sources I bought from showed the correct master cly in the picture but sent this stupid looking universal core. I’m not sure if I ordered the master for the wedge engine now if it would come with the same stupid core. Anyone ordered on in the last few months.

Had the same problem. Ordered from Advance Auto, Rock and one off of e-bay from Cardone. ALL had a picture of the factory appearing correct MC yet all were delivered with those goofy looking knobs sticking out towards the engine. Ended up having my old one rebuilt.

Well the one that Cass (DoctorDiff) sells is a nice piece. It’s as nice a repop parts as you can find. It came nicely painted a semi gloss black. I bolted it on and it worked perfectly.

3 of the absolute worst suppliers to get a correct master, alternator, ps pump or most "vintage" parts from....damhik

I went through this same problem earlier this year. Order the master cylinder through Mancini Racing, it is a correct looking unit from MBM.

I've used the MBM master before. Looks pretty stock and made of cast aluminum instead of cast iron. Problem is that it's made in China.

The one I just bought from Cass looks just like that and is made of cast iron. The reason it’s made in China is because the entire Government sold us to China 30 years ago. I’ll refrain from my next comment because we can’t debate that subject in this section😉.

I don’t believe Bendix has manufactured any hydraulic brake parts in over 30 years. When I worked at Brake Parts Inc/Dana Brake and Chassis/Affinia Brake and Chassis from 1990-2005, Bendix Aftermarket bought all their hydraulic brake parts from us to sell in their boxes. I’m not sure if they got their friction from us also. The Bendix company itself split off many of their diverse collection of product lines over the years too, Bendix OE brakes got sold off to Bosch around 20 years ago. (As an aside, in the small world department, Bendix owned the former Studebaker test track near South Bend, and Bosch sold it to my current employer Navistar around 5 years ago).
I’d be surprised if Bendix aftermarket decided to try to start production of parts in the US in recent years instead of buying from suppliers, their old factories are definitely long gone so it would have been a “green field” project to do that, when most manufacturers have long since moved production overseas or to Mexico since its not cost effective to make things here.
