Wondering if someone could post a picture of what the correct hardware looks like that attaches the rear valance on a 70 Cuda, need the 2 along the very bottom and the 4 that run along the top edge. When I got my car almost 30 years ago the valance was off and hardware was mixed in with a box of bolts. Philips head screws were threaded in place and have been there ever since. Maybe the screws are correct but doubt it since they look like interior trim screws. A close up pic the head of the hardware as installed would be helpful. Thanks.

Thanks for the replies. Actually I have a kit I got from Tom maybe (?) 10 years ago but it only has 1/4-20 bolts & studs, the hardware holding my valance on is a combination of 1/4-20 studs and 10-24 screws and that's what brought me to ask the question what others had. Reading the replies sounds like I got the wrong kit, I checked his website tonight and the hardware pic for the 70 matches up to what I need. I'll add it to my Carlisle shopping list. Thanks again.

I know that the 70 and 71 models came with different rear valance support brackets, so there are differences between the two model years. What I can offer is what I know about the 71 Barracuda. I have two "one owners". Both have the same hardware and fasteners for the rear valance. Your pictures are of the top corners, correct? I have attached a couple of pictures of what I have at those positions. These are the originals, not reproductions:
(A) These are located in the top corners at each side and attach the valance to to the quarter panel. They are sheet metal/self tapping type pan head phillips head screws. They have a captive washer and thread into the U-clip that is pictured.
(B) These occupy the next two slots down along each side and also attach the valance to the quarter panel. This a three piece setup with a stud, U-clip, and a nut with a captured rotating washer. You should have a total of four studs, four clips, and four nuts. These too are the originals, not "repros".

Thanks for the pictures David. All along I figured screws were wrong but seeing what your 71 has and reading the other replies & link, I'm thinking there's a chance the screws holding my valance are closer to original than i thought.

Thanks for the link to the thread AAR#2, the screws holding my valance on match the ones pictured in the thread you posted, maybe not the washers but the screws are dead on to what others have found.

Thanks AAR#2 for the link. Lots of good information. 383S_Fastback, I apologize for straying off topic on this thread. You asked for help on the 70 model year. Since there are similarities with the 71, I think it may be worthwhile to also see the differences. And for my own selfish reason, I would like to know the type of screw that was originally installed on the two top middle positions (C) for the 71 model. Was it the same as the 70?
(C) This is the J-clip that was installed on the revised 71 version of the valance support bracket. It takes the place of the welded nut used on the 70 bracket. Unlike the sheet metal type U-clip used in the top corners (A), it accepts a machine screw....like the welded nut on the 70. If anyone has an image of the pan head phillips machine screw that was "sometimes" used with the welded nut on the 70 bracket, would you please post a picture.
And lastly, I have include a shot of the rear of my unrestored GK6 Barracuda with the locations of the fasteners.
