Haven't had a ladder bar car since the early 70's. Found an A body that has an 8pt, 8 3/4 rear, tubbed and ladder bars. I have a 440 in the machine shop that should be making close to 550- 600 HP. The car has 13" slicks. Also a2.74 1st gear. I know the 8.75 won't last long term but more important is whether the ladder bars will handle the power.

Ladder bars, that's probably the best drag race suspension out there. Move them up to hit tire harder, down for less hit and more lift at the front of the car (wheelies)

New rod ends and make sure they have safety straps up front. Put the lightest spring in the rear, adjust shocks, Then go blow up that 8 3/4...LOL

....BAD A$$ STREET CAR.....

Lol yaaa it will handle it. Not sure the horsepower in my black Duster but it’s gone 9.42 using ladderbar suspension and 1.25 sixty foot times. When and if I ever get my green Duster Out it with be powered by a 500 plus cubic inch 440-1 headed engine on ladderbar suspension and will be running 8’s in the quarter mile

Ladderbars need good double adjustable shocks, and with a 2.74 low that will agravate the issue. I would consider a 3.91 gear to get the SLR. Down to 10.7. You could also go to a 2.45 low and a 4.10 gear which is a SLR OF 10.0. A loose converter to make it consistant may also help the 8 3/4 live a while.
