Well I planned to have my new 408 finished and installed in my Duster for this year but I haven’t finished it yet so I’m now on year number 5 with my 422 small block. I lowered the shift rpm down to 6800 last year and 6600 this year to baby it a little. Man what a hot day for our first outing of the year. My son Matt did the driving Saturday (thank God) running a nice string from 6.10-6.11 making it to the 5th round before spinning a touch and the car slowing .01 losing that round. The track photographer shared a nice photo of my Duster

Great pic and sounds like a good time.
How long have you had that car. 36 years?
Honestly I’m not sure but I think I bought it around 2006-2007. My son drove it until I rolled my Daytona September of 2010 and told him to finish his car as I would be driving it in 2011. This is a 1970 Duster but I did start racing in a 1972 Duster back in the 1970’s

Thanks guys. I have really been blessed to be able to do this for so long without missing a year. Long layoffs in the mill, divorce, house and shop for sale, heart attack in 2000, very bad urinary infection in 2016 that led to an operation and wearing a bag for awhile, and a car wreck exactly one year ago today (I was rearended) that totaled my car and left me with a concussion, headaches, blurred vision, and neck issues. Time and physical rehabilitation fixed me up but it sure isn’t as easy as we age.

i didn't know the reunion was canceled ! rats ! last year, i got the dates messed up and thought it was the following weekend, rather than the one it was ! i was hoping to have my charger going for this year's shindig, but i guess that's not gonna happen. i still have 7 of my NU-BE trophies, and i "think" i may have found a stash of pics from that era. my lovely wife was cleaning out some "stuff" the other day, and found a bunch of envelopes from the photo store that contain negatives and pics from the early and mid 70's. i'm hoping there may be some treasures there ! i also found a couple of those reproduction class win stickers i had made years ago. did i send you any of those ?

Man this site sucks for adding pictures from your phone. Abodysonly puts this place to shame.
