Does anybody happen to know what outer door handles interchange (year/make/model) with a 62 Lancer. Mine are really pitted and need a decent pair for a drag car. Thanks in advance. Bill

the only thing i can find in my interchange book is that all the glass on your lancer interchanges with 60-62 valiants.
the door stampings are different [obviously], but it is possible that the handles are the same. i do not know for sure, but it may be worth investigating.
the only other option i can think of is to blast your existing handles, fill the pits with an "all-metal" type of filler, sand smooth, then powder coat them your color of choice.
i don't know if this helps you or not. sorry if it doesn't help.

Door handles are one of those things that can interchange among a variety of models.
A-body & B-body handles largely interchange, with the difference being either in the angle where they meet the door or the connection for the rod on the backside of the push-button.
60-62 Valiant should be identical, but you might find that 62-65 B-bodies will also fit; maybe even later years.
I'd look at photos on Ebay, Classic Industries, Year One, etc.

Unfortunately in 62 the parts book only shows the Valiant and Lancer as being the same. The part numbers are 2242 902-3.

That's got more rounded contours than the later As, and pretty much every B I can think of.
Could still be that the later, squarer design would fit and work, but wouldn't be correct.
Depending on the condition of the OP's handles, there are shops that re-plate castings like that.
Quality varies, though, and the good shops aren't cheap.

If it's a drag car then polish what you have or get them re-chromed. I don't think it would coast all that much.
