During the process of getting my '67 D200 drivable, I looked into having power brakes and a dual reservoir master cylinder, but things didn't go as planned. I had ordered both a dual master cylinder and power brake booster from RockAuto (Centric part # 13067001 and 16080242 respectively) and they got delivered last week. To start, the master cylinder requires only two bolts to be bolted onto the firewall whereas the stock single reservoir master cylinder requires 4. As for the power brake booster, well it's way to big to even begin to bolt onto the master cylinder (assuming I could mount that in the first place) because the booster hits the inner fender of the truck and the drivers side valve cover of my Poly 318. I should have saw this was coming, I just find it a bit disappointing that they would have these parts specifically available for a sweptline truck and yet they don't even come close to fitting without some serious modifications.

So at this point, is it possible to have a dual master cylinder and power brakes without hacking the inner fender, or, if not, do you know where I can have my single master cylinder rebuilt?

The other brake gremlins I've been fighting include brake cables for the rear. Before I got the truck last year, somebody had taken a torch and cut the driveshaft for some stupid reason, even though all that needed to be done was to take a brake spoon and back off the rear brakes as that's what I did and the truck rolls perfectly now. Point being that the same guy who cut the driveshaft also cut the brake cables, so I wouldn't be able to have a parking brake after I got the rear brakes fixed up. I've looked everywhere I can think of to find said cables but have came up empty - is it still possible to get these (even if they're used) anymore?

Thanks in advance!

All the brake cables for 72-80 are readily avail - if thats any help. Last summer I was doing something custom and wound up on the raybestos or wagner web site. Whichever it was let me seach for cables based on length.

Bruin brake cables has or will make any cable you need, even custom stuff.

There are adapters available so you can mount a two bolt master to a car that originally came with a 4 bolt master. The ones in this link are designed to be used with the aluminum master cylinders used in the early 80's cars and trucks. You'd have to do some research to see if the master you have will work with one of these.

Later big block trucks 72 up use a smaller diameter brake booster. Maybe worth looking into.
