I'm curious what car some of you would just have to pull the trigger on, even if you really shouldn't spend the money now, or don't have the room for, etc. I have four cars. Two of the newer era (5.7's, all the creature comforts), and two older ones to fill those needs ('89 Diplomat AHB stroked 360 and my '79 Power Wagon). So I don't have room for anything else, nor do I need to be spending money, insurance, tags, etc. BUT, if the right (and I know it's getting less and less likely) '77/'78 Fury/Monaco A38/440 comes along I'm going to do my best to pull the trigger. Reasons: I've always wanted to own something with a 440. What Mopar fanatic hasn't. Granted, this isn't the ultimate year for 440, but it's still an hp and very respectable 440 with beefy parts. Secondly, I always thought these cars were really cool, and remember seeing the FHP cruising I-95 when I was a little kid, sometimes at triple digits.
Facts are stubborn things.

A reasonably welldone Cheetah replica would yank my wallet right out of my pants. Ya don’t see em, and I want one. Those are cool for sure

So this pretty much happened to me a year and a half ago; As a kid a Valiant drag car used to go past my parents house every Friday on its way to the races and I loved it. I didn't know who or where it was from but it always went by and I always watched for it. Then in the mid eighties it went by with a for sale sign and at time I had no money (20-21 yrs old) . Then in '87 I went to the local drag strip that had just reopened after several years of closure and there it was. After a period of time I became friends with the new owner which led to becoming friends with the original owner as they were both long time friends. Anyway a lot of time had/has past and the second owner says he is going to sell the car but he is reserving it for the original owners (since passed) two sons. Turned out they were not interested in the car and with no need nor plans I bought it just because it was the first race car I thougt was cool. Future plans are to put a paint job and wheels as it was in the late seventies and put a blower on it and do some AA/G stuff. First pic is from the '80s, Second is from the mid '90s to present and last is from the late '70s

I was lucky enough to get mine, my '68 Valiant. Fell in love with it first time Mike brought it to RT 66 in 98. Bought it in 2017.

Those are cool for sure i thought getting in and out of a Lotus was a pain, I'm too old and fat for this "Climbing inside a Cheetah takes the dexterity of a lizard. You have to simultaneously hold the featherweight gullwing door up over your head, climb over the impossibly wide and fragile door sill, and get your legs past the large diameter steering wheel and into the painfully small pedal box, which is radically offset to the left. Have you seen the Car and Driver article where this was the fastest American sedan back in '77? I have it scanned to my computer and can send it to you if you haven't.

Nope, different article? No color shots, but in the article they mention the test car is a pale yellow.

1957 Chrysler 300C. Fastest American production car in 1957 (I love telling the Chevy buffs that over two tons of Mopar iron could outrun a 'Vette in the quarter)

Well, it's not a Mopar, it's my dad's Jaguar. 1950 Mark V drophead coupe. So many childhood memories and adventures and family history intertwined with the history of this car. It's special to me...
Part of that history was dad having to sell the car when he got sick with Multiple Myeloma. Tough times taught me all about doing what you have to do to get by.

Even if there was a such thing as a black Superbird, I would walk past it and buy a 2006 SRT 10 Regular Cab Ram in Flame Red. Supposedly, 6 made and I've been looking for one with a blank check ready for over 10 years: none have surfaced. I have an '07 with 9,000 miles on it, but it just isn't the same.

For me, it would be a late 70s Plymouth Trailduster with a 440 and fulltime 4wd. In very nice shape, that would be hard to pass up. I nearly got a Plymouth Trailduster 4x4 years ago, a friend had it for sale. Nice shape, good driver, nothing wrong with it, 360-2V, automatic, fulltime 4wd. White/red two tone. Removeable roof. 1978. Had it for sale around 1999/2000. He was asking $1,500, I offered $1,200. He declined. Went back one week later and he sold it for $1,100. JS

Big block Dodge and Plymouth 4x4s seem really under-appreciated, but maybe I'm not in the thick of that crowd. Great looking machines for sure...
When something that's on your bucket list presents itself at a price you can afford, the choice is simple. The unbeatable opportunities lie in private purchases. Those with a large network of friends in the hobby can have their bucket list cars show up any time.. and present itself privately at a price that simply can't be passed up, which would demand a purchase. I've lucked into most of the cars I own.

Only one I know of in Dodges' advertising:
This popped up Mecum. Is this Flame Red? https://www.mecum.com/lots/SC0520-413902/2006-dodge-ram-srt-10-pickup/

That's Inferno Red (metallic) https://www.carsdirect.com/2006/dodge/ram-1500/colorsI just picked up a 2004 SLT in Flame Red. (needed a truck and this one fit the bill and was well priced).

I bought it thanks to Diego. 1969 Mercury Cyclone. Now if a 41 Willys happened to cross my path, hmmmm.

Well, if I was rich. It would be the maroon with white top and interior 68 Dart GSS that was for sale at Carlisle a few years back.

I really am not sure if there is anything out there that I would just HAVE TO buy . . . I always wanted a B body, after owning my 74 Duster360 for years, and getting into 300Hurst cars . . . . and I found my B body, didn't need to be a "fast" car, just a great cruiser cause I like to drive long distances . . . so, small block, AC, cruise control, and buckets/console, would be nice . . . . found my car - in FC7 no less ! And 6way manual drivers side seat !!! . . . some disassembly and reassembly was required .. . but that was 11k miles ago, and still love getting in and turning the key !!

If some ever got off of his very rarely used M body 4 door with a sweet stroker A Engine that should run 12 flat with the AC and the cruise clicked on .... I might exchange a small stake of Benjamins for it ... Lol I can't bring myself to do it. Mine doesn't have the a/c connected, although it was an a/c car. It would also definitely need at least different tires to run 12's. It does massive rolling burnouts

There are two on my list:
One is sunroofsuperbird's Challenger wagon, the other is the El Camino-ed Chrysler 300/H clone in Mopar Collector's Guide years ago.
Just because you're paranoid, it doesn't mean they are not out to get you.
WANT TO BUY- Looking for a CD by 'The Sub-Mersians' entitled "Raw Love Songs From my Garage To Your Bedroom". Also, any of the various surf-revival compilation albums this band has contributed to.

For me I would NOT even hesitate to pull the trigger on a 1970 Sport Fury GT 440 or 440-6 if I found one for sale. My 2nd choice would be a 1970 Hurst 300 Chrysler.
