Ok, I finally got my MSD 10 Plus with coil and my 8975 box from Racetech puke
I'm now thinking I should go to a pro mag but I'm not sure witch
one I need.

I'm running a 588ci motor with a bird catcher on alcohol
and a 150 shot of nitrous for know.

The motor is right at 1100hp motor only so it runs ok
when it's running.

Is their any other info I need to make a good decision on
witch one to choose shruggy

Thanx in advance.

Probably better to have to much amperage in the mag than not quite enough work Buy the biggest output one you can get now so you can add more NOS later without having to close the spark plug gap up to get it to run work twocents

Maybe instead of a mag, look at MSDs CNP 600. Part number 8000-8. Cheaper than a mag, no moving parts, and full output even at idle, or on the brake. You can switch it down to 300mj to save battery power during warm up. No more distributor, no more cap, no more rotor. Plug and play with a grid controller too. I bought one but haven't ran it yet, the car is still being wired. Lots of high boost promod and radial cars atr ditching mags to run it.

Just a thought.

the MSD CNP 600 shruggy
Thanks for the heads up.

I'm also looking into adding a MSD 7531 to the 10 plus box.

Just a thought.

Lots of guys are running COP systems successfully but we went all in on the FT one and it stayed on the car about 24 hours. Kind of sucked because I had to sell one unit as used and the new one at a discount but we will never try it again.

Yea there's several companies out there that claim to be the
latest and greatest and with MSD now part of Holley all
MSD equipment is basically designed for Holley control.
The MSD CNP 600 from my understanding only works with the
Holley EFI and so on. shruggy

If only MSD hadn't discontinued the MSD 10 Plus whiney

The MSD 600 works stand alone with a grid controller, and works with any EFI as well.

Most of the pro line combos, hemi, and 481X, EFI, or mechanical are on the MSD 600 now. I'm there a couple times a month, and see what's being ran. There are a couple guys that won't let go of there mags, but I tend to think it's issue of familiarity. I suffer with that as well, as I get older, and dumber.

I thought long and hard before going cnp, because I understand the mag in its entirety. I still have a couple 10 plus boxes that I'll likely never run, but just can't let go of them lol. The 10 box was too expensive to manufacture, and pretty fragile electronically. The rev limiter is horrible, and can't be smoothly controlled by any external device. The internal rev control is like a hit or miss engine too. They do have one saving grace though, welding arc spark! Like 700mj
