Happened about a mile from my house...............

More than any jewelry piece or repair, you are what has been and always will be our precious gems. We as a family and business are OK, but it is with great sadness that we share this news. Norris Jewelers suffered a professional burglary on April 19th. Due to the mandatory shutdown of retail due to COVID 19, we were of course, forced to keep our store closed. Sitting there even with alarms, and other security measures, the store was broken into by a professional crew that cut all connectivity (even though the alarm company said the connection was restored right away). The crew was there for hours cutting thru the steel and concrete of the safe. This crew may have been responsible for robberies in other states. The detectives are still running DNA, and various evidence. Calling our repair customers has been some of the hardest phone calls we’ve ever made. We are in the process of picking up the pieces and restoring what was taken from us and from our customers.

There was a lot of damage to the store and our inventory. As we evaluated what it would take to return to business, even with insurance coverage, we have decided to close the doors of our physical location. This violation and resulting decision has weighed on us heavily. We have served our community for over 38 years and closing the store in this way feels similar to a death in the family.

We are so thankful to have been able to serve you. We are in the process of moving to an online store model to continue to serve you. FOR OUR SAFETY, ALL INVENTORY AND REPAIR WORK IS BEING KEPT IN VARIOUS LOCAL SAFE DEPOSIT BOXES. You will soon find inventory on our website that is for sale as items last. We are also tossing other ideas around for an appointment only, all custom design shop…so stay tuned.
