The Quintons have a mold for that body now. Yes it was a Jeffers car to start.

Me neither really.....Why take the roof off when you can do a fiat or other body like an early vette? I don['t know, we only see a couple of cars like that around here once or twice a year.....I guess I like change to a point.....Maybe I am old....Put a roof on the Cuda body, and even a lowly bracket racer like me would be interested.....That one is really sharp....

It is simply a the best tool for the job in S/Gas. Why handicap yourself with an inferior tool if winning races, and championships is your goal. No different than running a dragster in S/Comp, its the best tool for the job. These days just about any serious dedicated racecar could easily run 8.90 but why not use the best available tool for the job. The long skinny car has proven to be the best tool for 8.90 classes just as the roadster has proven to be for the 9.90 class. Do door cars win in each class, sure in S/G some even do quite well, but follow the results and it is undeniable what the best tool in the shed is. I mean these days you can buy cars off the showroom that can run 9.90, in fact we have a couple guys with Demons that run S/G out west, they are just first round fodder but they are having fun and racing I guess, but really are just in the way. To each his own but if you are serious about running in S/Gas and consistently going rounds and winning races hard to deny the facts

One can use anything they want to get to 9.90 or .. even in some cases we have seen to 8.90 , now, do they win , regular and often at that level ..no

several friends have at that level, even being complete Mopar people have installed ( insert aftermarket brand here ) to be competitive ..

There is a Viper Roadster near me for sale Al , its built well but, the proportions are off quite a bit, its in a word .. ugly

Tom been considering running my hoopti in Gas or Comp. Be 181+ in gas and 185+ in comp. Id be ok giving it a try but I understand what I have is NOT the best option. Youo know me and cars, they are tools and might just be time for this one to move on, but not before I get that 7.0x timeslip this fall smile

If I thought I could have been a player with a roof I would have kept the old car. It was a 160+ car and with a bigger engine I am sure I could have went 170+. But didn't feel it was a good fit for a heavy car especially with that .385 tree..

You have very nice equipment Al. I was just making the argument that if people want roofs on a bracket car, I would like them to have what they want. I don't want to talk people out of roofs for any reason, you know me.

No doubt, its basic evolution......Props off to the guy to even stay with Mopower to boot.....It is sharp. You don't see a lot of those here....Crowds are tough to come by here, I can't imagine these are a crowd favorite....Seems like throttle stop racing is super competitive, but not a crowd fav......

I would love to see more cars in Comp, especially Mopars.

As opposed to at least one other I find your posts very interesting and not at all condesending.

Thanks,
Bill

I ran the old Barracuda in S/ST as most know but I also ran it in S/Comp, just decided if I was going to be a token may as well run the long skinny cars. It was just to heavy to hit that .385 tree consistently. The track had to be great and I had to be spot on to be in the .00x game and that aint gonna cut it, one little 1/2 turn of the tire and I would be .030 or worse and that's an easy exit for sure. So I tripped and hit my head and decided to go try T/S with an NA Mopar, lol...I think that has run its course but still wanna see that 7.0x slip for my NA deal. Then it will be time to move on and be more competitive somewhere.

This is a killer body to me. I want to keep it all Mopar if at all possible. But the options are slim for sure.

Big-Yeah not super excited about the Viper body but it is one of the few options. Seen the Suncoast Challengers and sorry they just don't look right to me, not to mention they seem to be not the most aero things. Similar to the new Camaro roadsters out there, in fact it looks a lot like one of those. So ill be poking around here the next year to see whats out there. If all else fails Ill run the Stratus in Gas if I have to but would prefer to sell it to someone to run TS or?? It is a bada$$ racecar to be sure.
