Not sure you can't. I remember getting frozen chocolate covered bananas at the fair when I was a kid.

Maybe the chocolate has special powers?

Bananas only have a very small window where they taste good IMO. Usually at my house that means 1-3 days after being purchased.(We buy them when they are mostly green...just starting to turn yellow) We keep ours out on the counter. If one slips past the window and starts to turn brown, it goes into the freezer. Eventually it gets turned into banana bread.

Answers are at the bottom. It appears once you freeze them that stops the ripening process.

Speaking of bananas.

The combination of green stalks and brown spots in a bunch of bananas is indicative of
chemical ripening; black stalks indicate a naturally ripened banana.

Can You Tell If a Banana Is “Chemically Ripened” by Looking at It?
If the banana you are looking at came from a supermarket, it’s almost certain to have
been ethylene treated anyway.
When calcium carbide is dissolved in water it produces acetylene which acts as the
artificial ripening agent but taints the fruit with arsenic . Many bananas and other
fruits are chemically ripened using ethylene gas. Bananas naturally produce ethylene
gas, which causes the fruit to ripen on its own.

when i store bananas i wrap them in a plastic grocery bag use to take them home from the store.
if you do this they will stay fresh for about 1 week sitting on the counter in room temp.

They will turn black and mushy if refrigerated.

Speaking of bananas.......

Interesting, I never gave it a thought and wonder if that's why I have an allergic reaction to bananas? shruggy

Did you hear about the guy who went to a psychiatrist with a banana sticking out of his ear? The doctor asked him "why do you have a banana in your ear"? The guy said "because an apple was too big".
