I own a great 2005 3500 6 speed manual truck and a 2012 Ram 3500 Cummins. I stopped at stared at a new 2500 short bed crew Cummins today.

I havnt been following the trucks lately so I’m wondering how you owners like your new trucks? My 2012 is non DEF. I don’t really need a new truck but they are offering 0 percent financing and I like the new blue truck I was staring at.

46k for a 2019. I’m a no frills truck guy like leather and that stuff. My 2005 has it and the cheap seats clean up easier. I would keep my 2005 and probably trade in my 2012. Or just keep three trucks 🤔

In any case how do you like them, which trans do I want ect ?

Thx for any help

I have no idea why the pic is that way, it’s not on my phone.

You're going to need a winch if you plan to drive it that way.

I was thinking of getting a 2019 last year and did a bit of research. The 2019s have the new injection pump (CP4) which is not as reliable as the previous version. Ford and GM both use the same pump but GM actually switched back to the older pump due to issues. When you here about a Ford diesel with $12,000 repair bill it was a CP4 failure.

Roller lifters and synthetic 10-30 oil is new.... have had 2 fuel filters since 13, just an fyi. Something they should have had since the common rail fuel system came out. Transmission.... I’d take either one. (There’s actually a rumor that a trans change is coming). They’re nice pickups and not enough common issues with the def/emissions systems to make me hate on them.

Not a 19 but I picked up a new 18 last yr. Wanted mega cab but no 4x4. To say I was looking a long time is an understatement. Found mine in Jacksonville while at my condo in New Smyrna Beach. It marked all the boxes.

Mega Cab, 4x2, no leather, no TV size radio display, not a dually, auto, white with light gray interior. Only negative for me was the heated seats and steering wheel.

Listed at almost 60k and purchased for 41k. I absolutely love how it drives. I smile every day when I look at it. Hell I couldn't say that about my 2011 GWE SRT Challenger when I had it.

Ok

As a Tech, we have ZERO issues with anything mechanically on the new rams, SIDE NOTE!! New cummins is hydraulic roller, and therefore takes 5W40 oil!!! Cummins came to us and specifically said, and I QUOTE! if service records show 15W40 oil, and there is any top end issues, no warranty!!!!

Panosonic screwed the pooch hard on their CRAPPY AZZ radios, and were dealing with them daily, but in the no thrills trucks we have no issues! Cummins 3500 with Aisin tranny is 1000!!!!!lb ft boys and girls! 1000 !!!!!!!!!

THat being said, they updated axles, brakes, frames, drive lines.

6.4 Hemi gets the 8 speed. Really a great platform! the guys who idle their trucks for longer than 10 minutes for warm up, and sit for hours a day idleing are gonna see cam and lifter issues regardless of brand, so dont bring that to the table.

The RFE got a updated Valve body, has a added valve plate in it dealing with drain back or something, I just do the Recall on them and didnt read into what the update really did just yet.

Overall Ive seen the Big 3 and Ram by far is the better truck! GM feels goofy behind the wheel, and Phords just suck!

If you want any specifics, build specs on any truck PM me the VIN and Ill look up build specs for ya.
