Greg I don't really expect any huge numbers out of this B1 deal. It a very small port for a B1 but still with a 2.300" intake valve. Should be an interesting comparison anyway. Should be making hot water Monday as there is an engine ahead of it now. As for the Jesel deal not unusual for them to change stuff, seem to do it regularly. They made some offset steel intake rockers for the Vette's little chief, took a year to talk them into it, because of the offset.

Jim, are those shafts for the T&D rockers 9/16?
I have ordered the new Jesels with the sides of the rocker bodies spot faced so i can register them against the bar itself, no longer putting any side loads on the needle bearing cages or snap rings. I like T&Ds design except for the snap ring taking the side load. But maybe that is ok to do apparently if the side clearance is tight enough.

Looks like some of the rockers get a counter bore to allow the adjuster cup to fit up inside the body, and some don’t.

I don't remember. I gave all my engine paper work and notes to the new owner when I sold the car turnkey in 2015.
I just have a few pictures on my computer from the build.

Dwayne it is definately the newer style with the deeper counter sink. Non of the old square back rockers are sunk deep and all the new ones are.

Finally! The headgaskets from Cometic showed up! Now all i need are the Rockers from Jesel. I ordered all new intake rockers due to the problems with pushrod length. The new combo required at least eight new pushrods at a cost of $300. So instead i opted to buy new intake rockers that will work with what i have on hand. The combo required a move from a .051 gasket to a .027 cometic to get 15/1 compression. I also had to have the heads cut .040 to get back to 62cc. So the end result is going from 13.6 to 15/1 ckmpression and adding 22 cubes. As discussed earlier, i hope to see a great gain in torque and hp from the 6000 flash rpm to redline of 7400.
The rockers are not hear yet and Jesel hasn't hit my creditcard yet so it will be more than three or four days and maybe somewhat longer before they show up. Then hopefully i can put this thing together and dyno!

Waiting is pretty much the norm now from everyone for pretty much everything. Seems like those 4-6 week waits are stretching out to 8-12 anymore.

The little B1 did make it to the dyno after waiting for head gaskets for to long. The heads up car even finally got its pistons from CP, seems they ran out of blanks for a period so that's been a long ordeal, but seems to be the way things are now.

Al, how'd the little B1 do on the dyno?

Dwayne what you said about flowing another port on the other head bugged me till i took it in to the same shop i had the first one flowed on. I asked him to pick a couple of ports and flow them. So, waiting on results. Will post them.

A bit better than expected honestly. It made 937@6900 and 807.7@5300. Pretty good for a fairly small runner. Going in a street/strip type 68 Dart, but don't think it will see a racetrack this year as not many tracks that are going to open in Canada

For pretty basic street/strip or bracket stuff, I’m usually “one and done”.....and for the most part iiwii.

But I remember those were a pretty high effort set of heads...... so it would be nice to see how consistent they are.

Finally got my intake rockers! While putting the valve train together i had an issue with one exhaust rocker. At first i thought i had a long pushrod in that spot but i didn't. Turns out one rocker wasn't allowing the adjuster to seat as deep as the other rockers. So,,,, i very carefully sunk the adjuster just enough to allow enough lash. Jesel says don't do this but i didn't go as deep as the others so i am pretty sure i am ok. The pics show the spot face i asked for on the new intakes and the washers that register on the rocker bar.
So i hope to get this thing together soon and get to the dyno.

Frankly, the lack of consistency you’re seeing with those new Jesel parts is disheartening.

I agree! The one rocker required about a .050 cut to allow the .015 lash. The pushrod was spot on 9.750 in length.
