I would like to see 26" radiators in 70-72 A body cars. I am putting a 512 stroker on the street in AZ and don't want any cooling issues.

TIA

I don't have a clear photo of the radiator in the one I had, sorry.
But, it was a '72 Duster with a healthy RB 512.
Champion 26" in the stock 22" opening.
With a direct-drive stock fan, a shroud, and a little smaller water pump pulley I had, the thing always ran 160-170.
Ran a separate ATF cooler.
Hottest conditions were mid-80s in traffic here, still never topped 170.
Car is now in Florida, no reports of it running hot.

I used a radiator from a big block Cordoba in my '72 Duster. The Cordoba radiator is a little wider than 26 inches, I think it measures closer to 27 inches. I also used the shroud and the 7 blade clutch fan. Temp stays right around 185 degrees on hot days. Of course, hot days in Oregon aren't quite as hot as AZ.

I don't have any pictures and the car is at my dad's but we put a Champion 26" rad in our 73 duster. It's just a drag car, but it just fits between the frame rails nicely. Did have to move the horns and they interfere with the passenger side mounting.

Thanks for the responses.

Andy, I have seen your setup before and it looks great. I do recall you saying that you went with a different core support though. I don't want to go that route since the paint is already done.

On my car, the 22" opening didn't appear to hurt.
The shroud & pulley changed were a significant improvement.
Before doing those, same conditions would be 185-190 and rising; PO had an electric fan in front of radiator, which I removed.
