I had acquired an earlier clutch pedal set up and was not savvy enough to notice it didn't have a way to mount a clutch pedal switch. I removed the steering column and pedal assembly to modify it to accommodate a clutch pedal switch. Then i used any and all pictures I found online to replicate the factory "Clutch safety switch loop and push pin"

It's tough to catch all those little details when buying used parts.

Here's a tip. Vinegar removes rust, and it's cheap.
It is acidic and I am no expert so do your research.
I would neutralize it to prevent flash rusting.
I like Evoporust especially for items that have never previously been stripped or painted.
Evaporust leaves paint dabs/inspection marks intact.

Here are a set of manifolds I just acquired (seen previously above) that were in nice shape but had some surface rust and paint.
It's hard to tell in the photo, but the metal just looks more natural with varying shades, compared to if I had blasted it
(at this point I plan to use Evaporust instead of cast grey paint. If you look at my Cuda build front end parts you'll see parts look much more authentic than with cast grey paint
After soaking and a light wire brush to help loosen some paint this is what they look like.

I thought I might add in some old pictures, after all the nostalgia of these cars is also part of what makes the hobby cool

This section of head pipe is soaking now, I want to see how that turns out.

This is really just show and tell so more people know about this
I dropped this in distilled white Vinegar this morning after I posted.
I pulled it out every few hrs and scrubbed it a little to help it along
There's a line because that section was not submerged until the last 2 hrs

Thanks man, it's a beater but it will be a cool beater.
This car still had a mismatched key issue from when I was a kid.
I actually had an ignition and door lock in my stash that matched the driver door lock. So I must have bought a set but only used the door.
Since I had already bought a new ignition lock cylinder when I converted the steering column, I didn't want to mess with the column again.
I re-keyed the driver door lock cylinder to match the new ignition.

This car hasn't had windshield trim since it left Alaska in 1995.
I only (kind of/almost) had one pic of these 2 cars together. Today I fixed that

grin They don't make new seat foams for these since the listing wires are molded into the foam. So I had to reuse what I had.

I had to fix the drivers side frame
I patched in foam into damaged/low spots and shaped it.
I then added 1/2" of foam
The seat bottom frames needed to be cleaned up and painted, that took some time.

Another boomerang came back. I had a back up for my daily driver a Neon R/T. I gave it to a relative for as long as he needed it. I fixed a few things and posted it for sale one night at about 8:30 and it was gone before I went to bed. The money went straight tward the Duster so it applies..... I also just fixed a seat foam in that car, I actually go lucky and stumbled on an Neon R/T in the junk yard. The paint was rough but it ran and drove amazing (like new) and it moved out for a Neon.

The seats are installed. Now I've removed the headers to get ready for engine detailing and a 340 TTi exhaust install (when it arrives)

Hey Tom, I was just talking to Jr at Six Pack Performance last night about the lil Red Express truck and I mentioned you. My TTi exhaust should be there today.
I actually cleaned and drove my Cuda just the other night, man it runs great. I have a Milodon road race style (trap door) oil pan I still need to install on it.

Lil Red was way cool!!!!
TTI should install in no time. Nice blinn for the engine! I'm glad it runs great - looking forward to more pics

My Cuda is parked for the summer. Its too dang hot and the aluminum radiator can't keep up. But I sure love the Holley Sniper - 440 lights right up after sitting a few months.

Great pic, but you need a bigger garage!

I scored two 15x7 rallyes fairly out of Denver, they arrived.
I also sourced my TTi exhaust through Six Pack Performance to help support a local small business. Thy arrived yesterday too. I do consider them friends. I've been going there since the late 80's
I spent a lot of time trimming the exhaust manifold gaskets so they would not show, and I installed the manifolds.
I have the exhaust tail pipes, and rear seat bolt hanger already loosely in.... today I'll figure out if the oil filter adapter, Z bar and starter go before or after the pipes.....

and the garage is just barely big enough (the truck even fits in there). Forward me pic's of your Cuda to my cell

Well I did this front end 25 years ago.
It wasn't a perfect restoration type job but was a very durable street job.
It was very dark and I thought it had been painted black, I was cleaning and it scrubbed clean eventually.
My cast Grey paint held up and the calipers are not rusty.
upon inspection it needed a rotor, some bushings and a ball joint so.......
