What did you upgrade (Pics if you got 'em), and how much you looking to improve?

I did a major change on mine last week and put new heads on it, but no tracks here are open yet.......My goal is to put my Duster in the 5's this year! Would love to see +115mph......I have one more trick up my sleeve once we get this all sorted out.

And for the Cuda, I need street car like drivability for the cruise nights that are further away......I ordered a couple real expensive parts for that. Probably be here next week.

got my 540 all together, in and fired up. Waiting on a air fuel sensor and just got my new seat belts today. Updated all my safety gear, shoes, socks, and head sock . Looking to drive the beast down the road and see how acceleration responds!!! Birdtracker

Got the steering updated on the Valiant, but so far have only driven it on and off the trailer. Waiting for the OK from the doctor to get in the car again. (Torn Achilles tendon) Tracks are opening up, so maybe I can get it tested soon. boogie

I got all my safety equipment re-certed/replaced just in time to sit and wait...All I need is a set of rear tires and set the suspension and I should be good. We'll wait on the tires until I see some loosening up. Got a new trailer too.

I did some work on the motor, set the timing and verified it with two different timing lights, new rear tires, change the front coil over shocks from a set of older steel Koni single adjustable to a set of new Afco external double adjustable aluminum.
I also swap the front tires from the 28 inch tall Moroso to a set of shorter 25 inch tall to get the front end down some more and less roll out on the starting line for a better reaction time luck.

Installed freshened up engine, corrected the mess from the first engine builder. 600 street miles with no oil loss. It is much stronger, (668 HP @ 5,800 rpm on pump gas).

I got my trans leak fixed, but I think the cam plug came out of the block because I had to get a tow due to a major oil leak. If you let the thing idle it doesn't leak a drop of oil, as soon as you drive it the bell housing is full of oil. I had fought the transmission leak so much last year that I was actually relieved that it was engine oil leaking.

I upset the hot rod gods somewhere in the fact that everything that is going wrong with my car lately requires me to pull the transmission lol.

I had H P motors rewire my whole car after 30 plus years of electrical problems and he did a great job, no more worrying if its going to start before every round. He installed a new Quickcar switch panel with a push button starter ( can still use key if i want) which is really nice. I put in a new battery box as my old one was ugly and orange, and a new Jegs stainless steel radiator catch can, looks a lot nicer than the old plastic one i had. I also touched up the paint under the hood and replaced my expired belts. I wanted to replace my Weld Drag lights with new wheels I like the Holeshot R3's but at almost $500 a piece I just can't afford it right now. Car is in the trailer ready to go just waiting for the track to open. On my D150 I added a few chrome accents under the hood and replaced my old 90 2WD Ramcharger rims with new American Racing polished aluminum ones.

Sorry to hear that. I like the cuda. I bumped my compression up to 12.5:1 to match the rest of my combo which I thought the cam and heads were too big for the compression ratio of 11.25:1. Then I installed much bigger spal paddle fans that move 3000+cfm, I couldn't get the mechanical water pump to fit with this set up, so had to install an electric pump. Switched out the thick Walmart trans fluid for some much easier to pump ATI synthetic fluid. Build two sets of collector extensions, 3.5" and 3" just to try. Also for the street I built an exhaust system that looks like this, 3.5" collector extension 18" long tapered and into 3" 24" long pipe into some 3" Borla XR1's I had. Later in the season I will get started on the Indy tunnel ram set up If I can't get better than a 10.40 with these changes, then I will be looking at a cam change. It will be a Harold Brookshire (UD Harold) cam. He was the master and has some really nice cam lobes. I have been over on Team Chevelle and Speed Talk where he hung out and posted a bunch of his handy work. He was the best in the business. Still not sure on another SFT (ultradyne) or a Solid Roller, but they will be Harolds lobes no doubt.

That all looks really good, I need to up my radiator and fan game I just haven't done it yet. I don't overheat but on a hot summer day I have to keep my eye on it, especially on the highway.

I like the breather can setup, I need to do the same. I wondering if crank case pressure is what caused my cam plug leak. I had just shut it down from a hard romp on the highway when I got the leak a mile or two later.

Could be. Since I upped the compression I seemed to get more small oil leaks. The breather can all but eliminated them totally.

Not really winter upgrades but lets call this first one second off season of 2020 upgrade. We actually got to run a few races at the beginning of the year and took home a few dollars already. But we had a little accident with the car and had to repaint the front end because of it. Also added a lower grille to the front end. My son did a killer job matching the paint with this much pearl that's not so easy to do

https://youtu.be/cESMvIqDld0

The one winter project we did get done was getting the new bullet into the dragster. Since I was unable to get a new block and got tired of looking I bought a used engine. Was "fresh" when I got it. But spent the winter fixing some issues with it and freshening it up again. Its a 600-13 based deal. Makes good power for what it is. Only 13..2-1 compression ratio and a cam in the low .800's lift and 288/292 duration. Certainly not on kill but for this lightweight engine on a stick it should work fine. Did make just under 1100hp and 960 ft/lbs of torque!
