Dwayne, I had a set of -1's that had 45 degree valves in a 50 degree seat. By the time the heads were done they were fitted with a 2.300 intake. Maybe that's the post you're thinking of. It’s possible. Or my mind is just playing tricks on me.

Head flow numbers, runner and chamber volumes were checked. I wish i had taken the other head in to get another runner checked, but didn't. Port volume came out to 333cc and chamber volume exactly 62cc. They were 67cc before machining. Soooooooo, i never did have the compression in the 528 i thought i did. It was 13.56/1. The new combo with 550 cubes it will have 14.972/1. A gain of 1.41 points compression on top of 22 more cubes. The flow numbers aren't what i expected but they are what they are. Should make a little more steam! Any guesses?

Sounds like a winner. Have an old set of my B1 heads(small port) going together now that should be on the dyno in a couple weeks, waiting for head gaskets from cometic after waiting on a block forever. Combos are very similar you have a bot more cam, compression will be almost the same it sounds. Be interesting to see how they comapre That will be interesting. How big is your motor going to be?

[quote=Al_Alguire]How big is your motor going to be? Not for me but engine will be 560". 4.510x4.375 for someone else using a set of my old heads, with a new crank, rods and cam I had. Spent way to long waiting on a block but should be ready for the dyno soonish.

What’s the number you’re hoping to see? i would hope it picks up 35 hp. Way back in 03 it made 847 hp and that was without decent vacuum. Only pulled 1.5 inch. Different dyno too. With the best the car ever ran being 8.779 running radial slicks, i hope it will go 8.70 or hi 8.60s with the 10.5 x 33 tires which are a bunch lighter than the radials but are a bias slick. So lots of changes since the best.

Looks like you have a bit more cam than this B1 will have as well. It will be 280/288 .825/.800 on a 110. Also these are small port window B1's 290cc/104cc with a 52cc chamber and 2.30/1.81. Should be on the dyno this coming week hopefully.

Al , i assume the B1 heads will outshine my Indy stuff? Better, less compromized design back in the day. One more hold up on my deal. I chose to order a whole new set of intake rockers from Jesel. Somewhere between the first sale of Indy 440-1 rocker kits and about 2016, Jesel redesigned the rocker bodies and the pushrod cup adjuster got moved up .100 which makes all my pushrods for the intakes too short. So,,,, anybody needing replacements for the older square back (by the adjuster) type have two options. Find used ones, or buy matching length pushrods for the new replacements. I asked about shimming the rocker bars if i had pushrods that were too long while i was talking to them, because i do haves some other pushrods that are too long. The tech guy wasn't concerned about using some pretty thick spacers (up to .060 maybe?) which allows a lot of lattitude for pushrod length. But any shimming would require a check of the valve tip contact pattern if you go past .030 IMHO.

I don’t recall seeing an aluminum Jesel rocker for any application where the adjuster screw wouldn’t fit up inside the body...... like the one on the left.
If that adjuster is as far in as it will go with the rocker on the right....... I think that’s a screw up of Jesel’s part.

I bought a 1.55 ratio replacement back in 2016 and it was the higher depth plus the redesigned curved area by the adjuster, exactly like the pair of new ones i just recieved. I set both old and new rockers up on the bar they mount to and backed the adjusters out as far as they would go to measure. The new ones are .105 higher.

I now have more than a full set of 1.55 ratio rockers and a full set of 1.70 rockers , all 32 of them just like the one on the right, where the adjuster is lower. Some are damaged beyond use and i had bought extra pairs for quick replacement at the track. So i have quite a mishmash of rockers and pushrods! When i went to isky redzone lifters they required different pushrod lengths then too.

What happens if you swap the adjuster screws between the two rockers in that pic?
