They do explain the story behind the '71 Challenger T/A that never was. The beautiful, full color ad featuring the performance Dodge line-up for 1971 had that "retouched" picture in it. It was put together in 1969 and the 1971 version of the T/A was cancelled after that.

Editor must have cranked up a Marley before putting this out, got the production numbers wrong too and they are fairly well known. shruggy Allpar doesn't usually make mistakes.

At any rate, it is worth celebrating this car because it was truly ahead of it's time and shares alot of ideas with todays' top shelf sports cars (handling, light weight components, big horsepower from a small engine, and aerodynamics).

Car for Car, I would take a T/A over an R/T any day. stirthepot

At age 14 I had the luck to be living a block from the drug store, where two young pharmacist had Mopar as thier daily drivers. One a '70 T/A and the other a AAR 'cuda. Every nite 9:30 I made a point to sit on the porch to watch them blast up my street. Oh the old days.

Still my all-time favorite Mopar. Even more now that i'm past my big-block obsession.
