How far does it roll?

Does it ratchet or is it quiet then it just locks without noise.

When did this start. Did it ever work properly or is this a new build, or did you just do some work on the car?

Check the linkage for worn bushings. The plastic bushings can become oval and allow too much slop in the linkage. The metal pivot rod on my Challenger was worn in the lower bushing as well. So check that too. I had to weld mine up and grind it back down to the correct size.

"I had it rolling and tried to put it in park to stop it rolling and it was ratcheting and wouldnt stop. "

That is perfectly normal.

Exactly, park isn't designed to stop a moving vehicle, it's there to lock a STOPPED vehicle in place.

I love the smell of Deer guts in the morning, it smells like... VICTORY!
