I have a 727 trans and after taking the pan off I could see the rear servo crooked and stuck.I started to unloosen the band adjustment and the piston made some noise and straightened itself out. This trans was rebuilt a few years ago mild build owner told me he might have dumped almost a qrt of motor oil in but then they flushed it out and now this happen what could cause this?

I haven't had it happen to me, but it's common enough that they make servos to eliminate it.

How long has it been in service. When was the last time the rear band was adjusted. To what spec was it adjusted? What year trans is it?

The TF2 trans kit suggests that you remove about half the diameter og the lower seal land . It is stated to correct this issue. I'm betting the the rear band would have to be pretty loose before it could happen though
