1970 E-body, I think the hazard flasher switch is on there too.
Who has a good repro, or is OE going to be a better bet ?

Or..........Does someone specialize in fixing these ?

There are several ways of dealing with this.
Dorman makes a piece that attaches to your original switch. It has the cancelling ears that normally break off with age. Unfortunately, I have never had good luck with using them. They do not attach as well to the switch as the original ones. SKP still makes the switches (SKP SKSM111). Not sure of the quality. I have used Standard switches and they are for the most part as good as the OEM. I do not see one for 70 unfortunately.
Best would be NOS if you can find them.

Last I saw on an NOS for 70 was $400. I went the Dorman route and it worked fine, alittle different "click" on the cancelling but all good.

I bought 1 from Classic Industries..
Had to Dremel the knob size down slightly but worked fine..

1970 B & E body non tilt are ONE year only unit (part # 2947503) . . . you PUSH the emergency button in for the 4 way flashers ! All other years (71 up) you pull it out . . . will fit and work, but just not 100% OEM/NOS correct . . . as was mentioned before, there is a Dorman piece for the turn signal switch with the ears - but as was mentioned, I have not had good luck either using that.

Yes, I do restore the two different 70 style turn signal switches. On my JS Restorations thread on the Hot Deals and New Products folder, on my post dated 5.18.15 shows the restoration of a 2947905 E body switch if you would like to see the pictures from receiving this part to restored.

I did write at the beginning of these pictures the following statement that describes the differences between the E body only style and B and other body parts. Completely different parts:

"This is the restoration of a 70 only E body 2947905 turn signal switch. One unique marking on this switch is the position of the arrow on the knob. To turn on the four way flashers, you needed to pull the knob out away from the column, the triangle points away from the column, too. The 70 only B body 2947509 and the C body 2947503 turn signal triangles points toward the steering column and needed pushed in to turn on the four way flashers. The terminal wiring is reversed to accommodate the difference of pulling out or pushing in to activate."

This has been bugging me for quite some time. Why does my 1970/71 Parts Catalogue not list 2947509. It shows 1970 E body as 2947905 and 1970 A & B body as 2947503. Is this just a mistake or oversight in the parts book? I've Googled all 3 numbers and seen switches with the 2947509 label on them. Any insight to this discrepancy would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.
