No Double Pumper on a mild street engine. They are calibrated for the track and are way too fat for mild street engines. Read Holley's description. The Street Demons are the way to go today for the mild street engine. 625 or 750 with the composite center. They come with electric choke standard and can be had for $300 or so. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TRpmtLb_9dI

If the old carb worked fine, till the fire that is, then post up the carb number, if it hasn't melted, and it'll tell what you have, getting an equivalent should be easy.
Unless you are looking to go with something else then stand by for the 750 double pumper suggestions. Looks like # is 9hU5S-2643... ?

But that's just me.

I had a Holley 3310 750 cfm Manual Choke carb...on a mild 440 in the past, it worked great on my engine.

Sorry, the S was ok, the rest needed to be numbers.
If it is indeed a 9605S carb then it's a 600cfm unit. which is probably a good choice for a street type 383.
The closest new carb to that one is an Edelbrock Performer carb 1405, jetting is almost the same, the Edelbrock primary jet is .100, Carter .098, which is the only difference.
You could step up to one of the AVS versions, but they are a bit larger, 650 cfm, and you would likely need to rejet.

Thanks! Any reason not to go to the 750cfm 1407. Or should I switch to Holley. Linkage would work etc?

You will probably need the mopar throttle linkage adapter for the new carb. Edelbrock 1481, unless your carb already has that adapter, then you can most likely recycle it to the new carb.
Can't say about Holleys, I don't like them. 750 is overkill, imo. Years ago I ran some back to back testing on a mild 360. The Edelbrock 1406 vs the Edelbrock 1407. The 1406 had better mileage and a top speed of 110 in my test car. The 1407 got substantially worse mileage but would top out the 125 mph speedo, since it was my work car and I didn't need more top end but better mileage I stuck with the 1406.

For a near stock big block Mopar, the 3310 is very rich on the cruise. They can be made to work okay, BUT, as has been said, they are a little too big for a stockish 383. Then they need to be stepped down about 4 steps on the mains, the PVCRs opened up a corresponding amount, and the power valve needs to open sooner. And most will need to have the secondary spring tuned to the combo.
The Street Demon is a better choice.
And running a power wire for the choke is child's play.
