I have a Cuda convertible and I need some ideas on improving my audio system. I saw the factory looking head unit on E-bay that add all new guts to the inside. I want it loud, so speakers, amps, subwoofer . . .

I bought a set of front kick-panels at the swap meet this winter so I can add speakers to these pieces. I don't want to cut up the rear interior panels. Placing temporary boxes on the rear floor is possible.

What do you have in your convertibles?

I am not rich...but I get off my ass everyday to make sure I am not broke!

Can we get the Mexican cartels to help us with our supply chain issues? They don't seem to have any trouble getting stuff from one place to another.

No need for a head unit anymore. Just use your smartphone and a streaming music app such as Tidal, which can stream uncompressed CD quality or better sound. Feed that signal to a digital audio processor through some amps and out to your speakers. Everything can be hidden and the sound quality depends upon your budget. The sky is the limit.....with the top down especially.

I have a factory-looking radio with all new guts from Vintage Audio Radio. It has more than enough power to drive whatever you want with amp pre-outs and bluetooth.

Nice vert!

The problem with the vert is where to mount the speakers since there is no rear package shelf.

I have thought about temporarily positioning rear speakers on the seat, possibly latching them to the female seat belt buckle and feeding a wire up between the seat portions.

I have thought about using sacrificial panels at the front foot well also.

Keep the ideas coming.

I also rigged up a speaker box to sit on the back seat and anchored it to the seat belt buckles. Nothing really fancy for the time (25 years ago...), just 4 mid-sized speakers. Ran the wire under the carpet and a couple RCA plugs.
