I remember reading about him when I was a child, and being impressed not only with his competitiveness but also what a gentleman he was.
To not only survive a hugely dangerous era in Motorsport, but to also earn the respect, praise, and honor of his fellow racers and all those who've followed, speaks volumes.
I think he won about 40% of the races he entered, in all manner of car.
His 1955 Mille Miglia drive is still one of the most epic in racing history.
Moss was essentially a patron saint of Motorsport, and will never be forgotten.

Right up to the '80's few F1 drivers survived long enough to collect a pension !!!

Stirling Moss had a big relationship with Chrysler Australia in the late sixties when he was hired to promote the new Hemi six cylinder engine and the valiant pacer which had the hemi fitted.

As a kid, I was fortunate enough to see him on the track a number of times.

His in the cockpit driver style was, very unique, often back in the day in a tee shirt, with his arms fully stretched out, completely opposite of the current stressed granny hunched over the steering wheel of today's drivers. He was very easy to spot in endurance events.

And he could drive. RIP.

Reality check, that half the population is smarter then 50% of the people and it's a constantly contested fact.

Ditto, about ca. 1964 or 5 Aurora Model Motoring, Grey controllers with steering wheel accelerator, iirc a mustang and ford gt
figure 8 complete with snap on white plastic guardrails. Kind of a pita to keep the aluminum track connectors (pre plastic ones) from breaking and then there were all those shiny metal rods to get lost.
I know he was a great brit racer, never really followed him like unser, foyt, or gurney

A woman I know always claimed a "relationship" with him. More info than needed, I suppose.
