I have not yet used one of the Holley Street Dominator intake on any of my or one of my customer motor but I've bought two, one B and one RB intake. My questions to you that have used them what size carb. or carbs. did you try and how did they drive on the street especially light part throttle driving ?

I use the RB Street Dominator ported by Bobby (Streewize) with an 850 Demon carb. It is a great driving and performance combo. No issues at all.

I also like it because it is shorter and still manages to fit under my stock hood with a spacer and a nitrous plate.

I have used both the B and RB versions and still have them.

I have used 650, 750, 850 and 1000 4150 carbs with them and always found them to be a very driveable kind of a piece
that fit under most hoods.

performance wise, I remember....

The B version was down somewhere around 18hp at the wheels compared to a Victor on my 451 combo, not including
everything I picked up with carb spacers which was pretty significant.
Considering how much taller and newer the Victor is, and considering the Holley manifold was probably designed for 383ci,
that is not bad at all. The best I ever ran with the 'B' holley st dominator was 11.24 at 117.3.
As the intake manifold that helped me get kicked off the track for not having a harness or roll bar, it will always hold
a place in my heart lol.

Back when I ran 12s, the RB version was within about .1 ET and same MPH as a Performer RPM with the same
carb and no attempts made to optimize anything, so the test may have not been totally fair. I just threw it on and adjusted
idle mixture. The RPM felt stronger down low and was a little more responsive in part throttle driving as you'd expect from a dual plane. However the RPM is quite a bit taller and won't fit as many cars as easily. They both ran 12:5's at like 106.

They're pretty good pieces. I won't sell mine until I'm convinced I won't want to use them again later.

My street/strip 1973 Cuda has the RB Street Dominator intake with an 850 Street Demon carb. It is a great driving and performance combo.
The first few years I used the carb simply jetted at the track. Then later I richened the idle air bleeds (press in type), for better cold operability and off idle throttle response.
The engine is 446 CID, 10.7 CR, "452" iron heads with a MP 0.557" flat tappet cam. It has Hooker Competition headers, #5903, with the 1-7/8 tubes, 3" collector, an H-pipe with dual mufflers and full tail pipes to the modified factory rear tips. Torqueflite 727 trans with a super street fighter 4000 rpm 10" converter. 11.70 at 114 mph on a cool day with 4.56 gears. I run 3.90 gear on the street.

I ran mine on a 440 with an 850 Holley and then a Proform 950. Did real well. Then I built a 500 stroker. In an attempt to keep everything under the Shaker, I modified the intake to accept a 1050 Dominator. I just screwed some aluminum bolts into the carb bolt holes and cut them off. Then opened the plenum up enough to clear the Dominator's throttle blades. Worked good on my street/strip Cuda. One of my favorite intakes.

Have the street dominator on a 383, had 750 and 850 carbs.
First was 8:1 compression with 528 cam. Now 11:1 with 557 cam. Great intake. Low end is good and pulls nicely up top!

put one on a friends race car 505 cu in 11-1 comp 1000 demon carb 2' spacer 10.36 et .

years ago I ran one on a stockish magnum 383. The car had more low end grunt by virtue of how it would spin the tires off idle with a stock intake and 3.23's than it did with the SD and 3.91's. Same car, same tires, same road for both set ups. I also have both b and rb versions on the shelf, saving them for strokers with stock hoods if the day ever comes.
it is nice that the runners allow all stock accessories to mount up.

Back in the early 80's (81-82) I had a 440 that I had a Street dominator w 800 Holley and a "DC-509" was a great little street strip combo, As I recall it went high 12's in a 70 Cuda with 4.88's, slapper bars and a pinion snubber,...two more things that "don't work"... Similar combo but on a 76 smog motor, made my 79 PU run best of 13 oh's with a stock converter, and a lot of rear gear. Ah the days when things were simpler..

You got me feeling nostalgic enough to scrounge these up.

B and RB

I am thinking about putting that intake on my Savoy. I had a Performer RPM on it and replaced it with a Victor and KILLED my bottom end more than I thought it would. The SD might be a happy medium between the 2 intakes. I always wonder why the Torker II doesn't work as well as the SD

I remember hearing Tom Hoover or one of the other Mopar drag team members saying to not use the big old Accel coil with their Chrome Mopar race ECU, only use the Mopar special race coil with it at one of their drag race seminars
Ziggy, is that ECU the old Mopar race chrome ECU with the blue heat sink?

Torker II is actually in pretty much the same league of awesome, there's a difference but not a ton. I wouldn't hesitate to use one.

Only problem is there was never a B version Torker II. RB and small block only. They aren't horrible.



USA Chrome box had a black heat sink, USA Orange box had a blue heat sink.

That goofy giant yellow super coil never let me down, then I switched to an msd blaster and it ran exactly the same LOL.

W, I am thinking you aren't gonna have a lick of trouble.

A select few folks are kinda losing their mind over the restrictions, the rest of us who recognize the restrictions are
nearly unenforceable are doing what we need to do, being as prudent and careful as possible to not spread the virus,
and enjoying the light traffic and low fuel prices.

Remember, it's okay to out for groceries. It doesn't say exactly where you have to go.
So make sure you are getting groceries no matter what other errands you might combine to save fuel.

I've been driving my C body most of the time, it sticks out a little bit.
Nobody says anything.

Jim I also use a depth mike to check deck height.
I do that + rock the piston to find the average.
But ....I see many other use a bridge.
Why would one be preferable over the other?
