Anybody use this without their lube? Just the powder with maybe a light coat of oil on the skirts and rings?

They told me to clean the bores with thinner, w-d the walls & rings & oil on the skirts, that's it. My rings seated just fine.

I use a mix of oil and ATF by dipping the pistons in it to cover the wrist pins and let it drain back into the old steel 3 Lb. coffer can for a little while(5 to 15 minutes depending on how long it takes to get to the next one, no powder.
I wipe the excessive oil out of every cylinder 4 or 5 times while assembling the short block and then one final time before I bolt the heads on up
My motor seem to have the rings seated before starting now using this method work
AKA, the key to getting the rings to seat well is cleanliness while assembling and the proper cylinder wall finish before installing the rings up twocents

I didnt realize they had a assembly lube , I only ordered the powder . I was sure I saw a video from them that they used wd on the rings along with the powder on the walls.
I want to get the slugs in over the weekend.

This is how I've done the last few engines I've built with great success.
