I am reworking an old carb of mine (650cfm, [ 0-80783C? The numbers have been ground off in the past], vacuum secondary, and I have a question.

On the base plate there is a jet (45?) that is connected to the round hole on the side (purple). It appears to be a vacuum port or a purpose vacuum leak. Can someone explain what this port is used as?

Thank you,
Dave

It's only the electric choke i think. Manual choke carbs have a plate that blocks that hole on the side of the carb. I've never seen one with a jet on the base plate though. Hope that thing is locktight'd in.

That jet is in TIGHT! It started to break when I tried pulling it out.

Thanks!
