Hello, it has been a looooong process but I'm getting closer. Is this a good spot for a trans cooler? My main concern is if it will get enough air-flow.

I would just put a heat sink style under the car. I used one of the old Russell ones that they sold years ago and had it mounted under the floor. Always wondered if it was worth a darn and finally put a temp gauge on it. Thing worked better than I thought.

I think they are marginal for street car use though.

If the results don't match the theory, change the theory.

I would mount it in front of the rad support if possible, that way it would get plenty of fresh air. Aluminum likes lots of air for best cooling.

I mounted the glass bumper and it appears No. 3 is below the bumper and should get enough air. Problem is there is not much room between the grill and rad to mount it. It is FAT.

I hope you know that most ATF need to be at least 160F when running down the road so the additives in them will work correctly, running most ATF below that temp will mess the fluids up also scope
That tranny temp gauge is your friend on where to mount the cooler up scope

Mine is mounted like A, but on the other side of the car. My gauge rarely goes over 175, even making back to back runs.

Bracket car good-e-nuf....

I actually went back to a cross flow radiator with a trans heat exchanger built into it. Even in the heat and hot lapping it’s managed the trans temp well. Trans brakes build heat like RIGHT NOW!

this car has a brake, however I doubt I'll use it at 1st. Looks good. did you run braided lines all the way to the trans?

Yes... output Trans line to radiator cooler, outlet from there to the “log” heat exchanger, and back to trans return port.
