Wow, that was GREAT racing! Nice to see Robby Gordon out there - I took a road racing class with Gordon at Mid Ohio waaayy back in 1997.

Robby Gordon owns and operates the series. It's a spec class that's invite only, but still a ton of fun and competitive. I've seen them run a few times, most recently at Mid-Ohio last year as a support race during the Indycar weekend. The series has an interesting history, Robby conceived it to run large stadiums around the US, in the spirit of the old Mickey Thompson indoor off road races. After a modest first season, they found greater success running as a support race for major series in the US and Australia.

Fun to watch! Love how the front inside tire lifts in the turns--almost saw a couple guys almost roll over due to the insane body roll.

I bet it drives the F1 snobs crazy watching stuff like that!

When the words "racing" and "Australian" are used in the same sentence, that's what ya generally get. This series is usually pretty interesting and trading paint is completely legal unlike in the European version.

Great competition. It's interesting to me that I'm watching a Ford Mustang and what we know as a Buick Regal (which is same-same Holden) battle it out along with Milwaukee power tools sponsorship and Jim Beam logos on the bridge. Man, I want to go to Australia one of these days.
Of course, at the moment I'm not even supposed to be leaving the house so that may be a while.
I just touched my keyboard. Gotta go wash my hands!

Oh dear Buffy! What are those horrid machines and who are these ruffians befouling this fine racing circuit? Who allowed this travesty to take place?

If they put slicks on those instead of dirt tires, they might go faster. They might also all highside and barrel roll.

Australia has a wide variety of interesting motorsports activities.

If the results don't match the theory, change the theory.

These aren't "off-road" trucks and I doubt any one of them has seen so much as a gravel road. They're generally referred to as "stadium trucks" and they usually run a support race at Indy Car events. Robbie Gordon owns the whole gig and the drivers PAY to run the series although I suspect their sponsors are footing the whole bill.
