Take a look at this drivers side block mount pad, I think this is a KB Stage 6 block, but not sure.

How do you attach a mount to this ?

It is missing the studs that the bracket goes to. Anybody have a picture?

Interesting. The block I bought in 2014 had three mount holes to clear the double side bolts for the main caps.
These are my measurements, FWIW.

Been there, done that. On mine, I just drilled and tapped the area between the 2 bolts. Attached the mount with just 2 bolts and secured the engine with a turn buckle on that side to control the stress. Worked fine for me.

Master, again and still

It wasn't designed for passenger car use.

I had an aluminum Hemi block sitting in my shop for a bit and the left motor mount location was moved up about an inch from stock location. I didn't notice it until I bolted on a set of casters and the one caster was up in the air. Those race blocks were made for racing and they just put stuff wherever they wanted on them. Nobody was worried about the blocks being able to bolt into a passenger car.

On my suppos-ed Stage 2 block, the passenger mount hole pattern is higher & further forward than the the driver's side. 17/32" higher, 1 3/4" further forward. I referenced my measurements off the cross-bolt holes. They appear to be located the same on factory blocks just eye-balling pictures from a google search.

I haven't mounted mine, so I can't answer your original question with experience. My own plan was to use factory style mounts and modify them as needed.

At the end of the day, its an aftermarket part. Aftermarket parts don't tend to fit perfectly. You're just going to have to mock it up.

Here is a picture of the block I had. I don't remember any details on the block other than the fact that the driver side mount wasn't in the stock location.

I have not put a tape measure on mine to see how close it really is to OE stock.

I don't know why in the hell they would move the mount holes even a tiny bit, useless question to ask I know.

440Jim, your drivers side does not appear to be the same as an OE iron block.

Love it when people buy race parts and then expect to use them like stock factory parts...

OK I am whining, but still what they did makes little sense to me.
If they go to trouble to add stock type mounts at all, why alter them ?
Whine.

At least you can adapt (weld/fabricate) a mount to use the factory frame positions. You don't have to use a front engine plate in a street car (if you don't want to).
If the block had no place at all, you would have to use the front plate type mounting. I would like to see the manufacturer publish what they are providing for mounting position (drawing); so a buyer can prepare before buying the item.

I thought you had to use the Schumacher mounts?
