Hi guys, haven't posted in a while. How you guys holding up?

I just ordered this to break up the quarantine a bit.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003OXQJE6/

The one thing I never liked about models was the paining part. But I was thinking I could just do it in grey primer and paint the front black like they used to deliver them. Thoughts?

Any specific paint recommendations for any aspect of this build would be much appreciated! So far I've only ordered the kit and some Testors glue.

Thanks!

I doubt any hobby stores are open, but they'd probably have some modeler magazines for ideas & techniques.
Then again, that info might be on the web nowadays.
If you have a place near you that does paint dipping, something like a patina finish maybe ?
Heck, if it's molded in a color, maybe just polish that and it'd be like a promo.
Nothing wrong with the primer & black gelcoat idea, either.

One of those little touch up spray cans of automotive paint will cover that body easily enough. So many colors to choose from, a little masking tape and multiple colors is possible. I suppose the black and white would work as well. Maybe built 2 models and experiment with one. Gene.

If it were me I'd do it as an as delivered theme. You really don't see that much any more.

Yeah that's what I'm leaning toward.

Have fun! If you don't care for the painting part, I would go with the gray primer/black "as delivered" look. Easy to do and simple. Also, you don't see many that way.
