Trying to finish up a restoration on a 1970 A-Body and wanted to know what color (black or white) electrical strap should be used under hood - LH inner fender? The A-Body did not have any sheet metal replaced. Looking for feedback from the forum... maybe some has an unrestored 1970 A-Body or has some history on the color changeover between years/body styles?

Looks like you already answered your question. The one strap fits and the other is wrong.

It probably depends on which factory the car was assemble at and which vendor supply the ones being used on the assembly line that day work twocents
Maybe body color did have something to do with which colors where used, maybe not shruggy
All the early, pre 1971, Mopar cars I've own had black wire retainers like that is what I'm remembering now shruggy
Even my early production white 1963 415 HP M.W. Belvedere had black ones back then shruggy:

Mr.Cab Racing and winning with Mopars since 1964. (Old F--t, Huh)

The white ones are definitely correct for 68-70 B bodies and were on every one of mine.
Those cars also used perforated clear-ish straps on the rt apron and over the shock tower on the left apron.
Basically, where there's a trough, the white ones pictured are used.
I'm fairly sure the same applied to A-bodies, but it's been a long time since I had an original/stock Duster.
I'm pretty sure the black ones arrived with the E-body and 71-up Bs.
My '63 & '64 both used the perforated straps on left apron, and the white pictured on the rt apron.
I seem to recall perforated style on their rad supports, too.
Body color played no part, nor did assembly plant; I've owned many different colors and from I think every assembly plant.

looks like you have a painted over strap still in place. Remove and see what color it is.
