I have been looking for a new work vehicle for awhile. I was looking at used Dakotas and Rams for under $10,000. Either they had 200,000 miles or salvaged titles.
Yesterday I got a call from a friend that their neighbor was selling a 2006 Durango Went to look at it and bought it.

It turned out to be a one owner vehicle

2003 Dodge Durango SLT 2wd
4.7 V8, auto
Leather seats
and best of all 29,516 miles

Cleaned it up today, she turned out pretty nice.

Man, nice Durango. And what a deal, especially with under 30k.

Nice! The white will be easy to keep clean. I used to have an 01 SLT Plus with the 4.7. I really liked that body style. I installed 20" wheels, a billet grill, clear corner lights, a cheap E-bay intake and a Flowmaster 50 series muffler. The catalytic converter really toned down the Flowmaster muffler. It sounded great with very little drone. The E-bay intake made it fun to drive. The intake sound was awesome when you put your foot into it. The only thing I didn't care for was the mileage. Oh, I almost forgot. I also removed the roof racks. They come off easily and really clean up the look IMO.

I've had my 2000 since late 2011. We're over 165,000 miles now and still runs like a top. It's needed a few things here and there. Mine's a 5.9. Tows the car trailer great and is comfortable. We drive it more than the little German car because it's easier for my wife to get in and out of, but today was a top down cruising type of day so the Dodge stayed home...

Congrats on the new ride.

I love that body style Durango.

I like that body style way better then the 2004 I picked up last fall.

I really don't care for the newer body style but it was cheap because it needed the 5.7 Hemi replaced,.
It had put a rod through the side of the block.
I should have the replacement engine ready to fire up soon.

Kayse can't keep up at all now. lol

Yeah, when I heard it was a 2006, I was think of your body style, when I pulled around the corner and saw it was a 2003, I was I like that style better.

I never got into Durangos or Dakotas. The round ones looked like a squished Ram. Which I guess is a good thing since you could tell they were related.
I liked the 2005 Dakota but the same style Durango looks like a 4 door minivan or something shock
Nice find tho.. that's crazy low miles.

My sister had one of that generation. She loved the thing...until the engine went. Then, trying to find a replacement, forget that. The engine was definitely the weak link on them

and ya know it'll be good for another 150,000 miles - I never see them for sale with less than 170ish.

Nice Rango! Keep the oil changed FREQUENTLY and don't ever let it overheat. Those 2 things are the killers of 4.7 motors.
