I this morning took a nice early morning bike ride in a slight fog on unopened recently built highway thru the Orange Groves and their pleasant aroma.

Probably will get a lot more golf in.

Deciding today if in the shop I want to fab my own custom 1" lowering blocks with a built in 2Deg taper.

I got so many car projects, I would bore you to list them all.

Working from home, as usual. No change for me. My wife is home for the next 3 weeks, though she will be writing online lesson plans, etc. My kids are home for 4 weeks. Older one has online classes beginning Tuesday. Younger one has optional-but-encouraged online school work and activities to do, provided by her teachers. Won't be much time for projects.

i have no real set plans here. just common sense to not do anything dumb to invite the illness to me.

to cold to bike here,ride my spin cycle for cardio. i did drop off my new to me 2016 specialized roubaix bike with DI2 shifting for a spring tune up 3 days ago, should be done on wednesday, friday at the latest.

if i have to self quarantine will go thru more of my stuff, list and sell what i can on ebay and facebook. what doesn't sell will probably end up in the trash if it's not high dollar. the high dollar stuff will end up in storage. there is a spring swap, WMMC, for me on the 19 of next month so have to gather stuff to sell.

The office for my small engineering sales business is in the pole building behind my house. My commute is always pretty short! I suspect that I will be having more web meetings instead of customer site visits. I don't expect my large projects to stop - but maybe some smaller ones will get delayed a few months.

With some potential extra time on my hands, I will be:
1. Re-installing the dash back into the '67 Barracuda project
2. Completing the assembly and install of the 440 (if back from the machine shop during Armageddon times)
3. Installing new security cams around my shop and residence (not related to Armageddon, just procrastination over the last 6 months)
4. Working on cutting down and clearing the 100 or so dead Ash trees in my back pasture
5. Grass mowing and bush hogging season will be upon us in 6 weeks or so!

Looks like I’ll be working from home the next. Few weeks, recreational time will be spent in my shop.

Our campus has been asked to reduce staff by 50%. Some departments are doing one week on/one week from home. Doesn't make sense to me. Our department and a few others are 100% work from home for next two weeks or as necessary.
. It actually may work out since some of my video conferences coming up are with folks in Munich. I may just get up earlier and align with their time a bit more than having them stay late for us.

I have routine meetings with Japan and we already do that and share the burden of inconvenient hours by having some meetings convenient for their schedule and some for the US staff and also combine as many meetings as possible.

What I'm wondering is, if you don't have a work at home profession, but your employer shuts down for awhile, can you collect unemployment during that time?

I'm currently smack dab in the center of the 3rd highest 'hot zone' for the virus. I work in a major grocery store chain. I am hearing crazy stuff and see it first hand all day what people are doing. Whet I'm hearing from my manager, friends and family in medical field is not encouraging. I will post tonite after I'm off work. We ran out of meat and supplies for two days in a row and all shipments for today have been cancel til further notice.

i am a flat rate autobody tech. if work slows down and i can't book enough hours unemployment will be filed.
i haven't had to do this since the great recession.

I work in manufacturing. Haven't heard any plans to close, but, a lot of our customers are closing. Where we had (local) shipments going out daily, we're down to just two days now, and last week, even that was a stretch.

my wife is deathly afraid of this situation. i went to a small swap meet this morning, along with a couple of my buddies.
she is always fully supportive of this, but when i got back, you could just TELL.
so i may not be hitting any more until this business is over. a couple of really good ones are coming up, and there is always carlisle in july.

luckily, i have more projects than 50 guys should have, so i'll have NO lack of entertainment.

Good topic.....My wife is planning on going to work tomorrow. However there is a fellow employee on her shift that is flying home from the Philippines today. Several people are concerned about this person coming back to work right away as HR told everyone they cannot send this person home if they want to work. My wife already is under FMLA for her kidney failure because she will get ill with no warning. Other than that we are not changing our lifestyle too much other than I may cancel my appointments at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics next month.

We are both retired, so we have no need to rush in to town any time soon. We went shopping yesterday, and are good for another two weeks. But this is our normal routine honestly.

One brother in law works (from home) for Proctor and Gamble, and they are running hot 24-7 now to try and keep up with worldwide consumer demand for their products. My sister (his wife) died from cancer in Dec 2018, and they have 2 small kids (8 and 7). Because he is working 16-18 hour days right now, their kids will be spending the week (at least) at another sister's house, along with that sister's 2 small kids (6 and 3). My younger daughter will be over there each day to help watch the kids, and my older daughter will be there as time allows. She (older one) just found out 2 hours ago that she is out of a job (hostess at Cracker Barrel) until Governor DeWine allows bars/restaurants to reopen. They are all closed as of 9pm today. So, the kids will have time to do their homework, and also be able to make some $$ watching their young cousins. My wife said she will start spring cleaning each day once she is done with creating her online lessons for the following day.

My parents (79 and 77) are staying home completely for at least the next week or two. My mom is going to clean/de-clutter the house, and my dad will likely work in the yard as weather allows.

I’m still going to work (flat rate auto tech). Also still planning on going to Vegas for Muscle Cars at The Strip next weekend..... if it stays open.

From what I understand your employer can fully pay you and write it off on there taxes at the end of the year, if they have a tax liability during the shutdown, no foreclosures, tuition payments suspended till further notice. Trump was on yesterday with the white house team and anounced that. With the bill going to the senate they are trying to make sure people so not lose everything over this. About the first time I have ever seen anybody take care of the little guy so fast, I know its not perfect but we will all need to sacrifice during this. If you don' t die, and wake up in america, you have won.
