We just had an updated rule over here. All race vehicles must use locking engine and trans dipsticks.
What do you use over there?

There is options out there for locking trans dipsticks, CRT offers some as well as Lokar. I safety wired my Lokar dipstick in for my trans. Last time I had to go through a real NHRA tech official they looked at that closely but passed it.

Over here we have to have a locking trans dip stick but the engine one isnt required.. YET.. I built one
for the trans.. started with a Locar but its for a 518 trans.. this was for my hot rod

TCI makes a locking trans tube cap. use your old dipstick for measuring. have not seen anything for engine oil

I just used a rubber cap for the engine but as I said we dont require a engine one over here.. check with
your sanction to see what they want

I have a locking dip stick for my engine and trans. I believe I got the trans dip stick from A&A. The engine one I can't recall and when I looked recently for a second one I could only find them for Fords and Chevy's.?

Hate recommending them anymore, but got mine from Mancini a few years back.

Trans dipstick...... cheap mopar guy (me) cuts off junk yard GM locking stick and uses that to tech and race.... actual stick is in the trailer

Oil..... I’d pull it out and put a rubber cap on it! Kind of like what I’ll do now with the vac pump.

Thanks, I've looked for a locking engine dipstick and there appears to be none commercially available for Mopars.
Anyway, you guys have given me some ideas

Cheap .. drill hole thru dipstick tube, drill hole thru dipstick .. put safety clip thru hole ..

I myself don't use a engine oil dipstick , hole is plugged

I've seen guys use a return spring between the dipstick loop and a bracket, though technically that's not "locking".
I would think anything with a decent vacuum pump isn't going to blow the dipstick out of its tube, but that's just logic
As for the racecar's trans, I too use a GM locking stick & marked it to the Mopar level.
Racecar has a sight tube on the side of the pan: though that means hands & knees, I nose around under there frequently anyway, and the oil doesn't change level or color before changing it.

My World aluminum Hemi block isn't drilled for a dipstick. When I asked my friendly engine builder guy how I would check the oil level, he gave me this crass look and muttered something under his breath. I got the impression that he was questioning my manhood and might not release my engine back to me. The engine is in my garage now but I'm still trying to figure out what to do for checking the oil level. This is primarily a street car. I thought about adding a sight glass but I think a diaper is in my future. It's hard to see a sight glass way down there and if the diaper is on, well, you can't see the sight glass. I also worry about oil temp rising when running a diaper. So just to come up with the most complicated solution to this problem, I'm trying to figure out if I could fit this into my Charlie's tie-rod tube oil pan: https://www.amazon.com/Temperature-Sensor-21042447-24424110-TKB/dp/B07DTKG6HZ You can read oil level and oil temperature by way of the four wires on the connector (?? ohm values). I think my ECU has 8 or 10 programmable sensor inputs so I can read the sensor values and display some icons on the digital dash. I might hack as sensor reader and a display using an Arduino since I'm pretty familiar programming those. Ya, this is a project and I'm crazy ... I work at a University and it looks like I'm moving to full-time work from home due to Corona. No commute gives me back 1-1/2 hours every day

I have a Milodon braided steel dipstick in my hemi. It isn't locking, but if it gets blown out (it's tight), then it won't be the only thing that blows out and leaks oil, lol.

Never understood not running a dipstick, even on a race engine. Use a decent dipstick and you won't have any sealing issue. I like seeing exactly where the oil level is and it's an easy/quick way to check for water/oil contamination. I've heard the old saying "if you need to check it, you need to change it" a lot. I'm not changing it every time I think there may be an issue. There's a lot of unnecessary oil changing.

For the life of me, I swear that I bought my locking engine oil dipstick from Mancini last year. They had one that fit Hemi's with TTI headers and after buggering up a couple of regular tubes trying to make them fit, the Mancini was a godsend! I looked on their site and can see no mention of it, but maybe a call would get an answer. It was a flip-lock just like you see for transmissions, except it was sized for the engine.

I bought one from them a few years ago as well and looked at the website yesterday. None to be found.
