The owner who is one of themost experienced restoration specialists in the Northwest, looked for nearly 2 years to find the most original and complete vehicle available to conduct this remarkable restoration, and then over 3 years restoring it.

Most experienced but doesn't know what the word 'restoration' means?

Nice ride for sure but not $89 K nice.

work

Paint & body look really nice, and it's clean, but to me a '67 GTX that's "$89,000 nice" would also have its original 426 Hemi & 4-speed.
But maybe the color-matching latch hardware is the hot thing now, and I'm just a doofus.

That appraiser seems to be an ad-copy writer, not an impartial and knowledgeable 3rd party.
Heck, might be the same guy writing the Ebay ad...

Actually, Doc, I've done appraisals for decades, including some really high-end stuff.
Some guys are just rubber-stampers, but I always endeavor to know the car, and if I'm working for a buyer, what he's looking for.
I reviewed one guy's appraisal last year who was comparing an updated '66 mostly-Shelby GT350 clone to the B-J Eleanor cars: two different things entirely realcrazy
Regardless, the truth has to appear in the appraisal as far as I'm concerned, in an objective and contextual manner.
One of the things that's happened to that profession is that most folks expect the Encyclopedia Britannica for $100, including travel & expenses.

ts ... I will stand corrected on my statement...

Not ALL ... but many ... are just hired guns - if you’re a buyer - the appraisal will be lower ... if you’re a seller it will be higher.

Look here ! ... that appraiser said 89 .. what say you ?

LOOK at what happens at times at MecumAuctions..... some appraisals are TWICE what the fair market value shows

There are some people here that I would trust to write an accurate, detailed appraisal. You are one of them. Scott Smith is one of them. There are a few others.

Most of the appraisals I've read (at least a thousand of them over the years) are terrible. I would never trust anyone who buys a territory from one of these "appraisal" companies. I haven't yet encountered one that was knowledgeable. In fact, quite the opposite.

Earning every penny of that moderator paycheck.

Yup, agreed; like the Mustang I referenced.
Also, bear in mind that the auction companies own some of those cars, so it's easy to "follow the money".
One used to (and may still) buy up, say, a few 442s, then tell the world for a year or two that they're the Next Big Thing, then run them through his own auction.
I know of one car for absolute certain that was on TV as a #s matching Hemi car, verified by their Mopar expert...
Engine, trans & rearend were not #s matching when I had 'em in my hands...
