As far as the 285,000 miles:
My Breeze turned 290,000 today, ironically on the way home from visiting someone who knows that GTX, and is in better cosmetic shape.
Granted, most of those at a claimed 85,000 miles look worse...
But it's possible to put big miles on a car without reducing it to rubble.

I heard from another guy who knew the history on the GTX that the 285,000 miles was legit. It was a driver for a long time.

I think there is value in the fact that you are not getting a car that's been thru 1 or 2 amateur/professional restorations in decades past & a pile of "flippers"

Yeah that is true. I'd rather have an original car that had been driven over the years and taken care of than a car that some idiot had "restored". I've seen a fair number of "restored" cars that were damaged or even ruined in the process.

Give what up? I've talked to two guys now who were familiar with car. You don't know anything about the car so what do you care?

I think it's absolutely possible for this car to have that kind of mileage. If you do the math, 285,000 miles at 50 years, is 5,700 miles a year. If the guy used it regularly as a fair weather driver, there's no reason why it couldn't have that kind of mileage, and be in that condition.

I've had my 2017 T/A for 2 years, it's going to roll 40k tomorrow. Some of us like to enjoy our vehicles.
