I would change the oil and filter and cut the filter open and go from there scope
As far as putting synthetic oil I would run regular oil for at least one oil change(1000+ miles) up
I run my motors at least that far before going to full synthetics, don't forget to retorque the intake bolts several more times after driving it each time to warm it up until it takes a hard set, that will help the intake gaskets from seeping oil into the intake ports up wrench scope

Could you explain that "ring finish designed for synthetic oil"?

I think Cab said it perfect. On both counts. If you torqued the intake perfectly (most people don't) it will loosen up after a few heat cycles. Keep torquing it down monthly until it quits asking for more.

All I can say is that switching to Superformance intake gaskets made all my intake problems go away. No more Fel-Pro, Mr. Gasket, etc. and constant battles with retorquing.

LOL, I’ve been there Cab, this build I had a customer write a CNC program and we installed .090 Viton O rings, no mor leaking intake gaskets for me!

Bob Myer at Performance Automotive contacted Sunnen about this. They provided the proper stones and speeds and feeds for a finish to accommodate synthetic oil

Mabie I didn’t pose the question properly. I wondered how many miles I needed to put on the engine before I switched it over to full synthetic oil?
Again, it has been Brocken in on dyno and three power pulls.

Like Cab said already...I'd run regular oil for one oil change interval and then switch to synthetic.

I'm thinking Bob Myer in consultation with Sunnen might be a good source for the time to switch over..

Getting closer to install. I need some dry days to do it.
Meanwhile, I am attaching accessories prior to body drop

The idea is to do a body drop with all accessories.

Is that a Superstock pulley on your alternator?

It is a deep groove, I don’t know if it is a SS pulley

The Joe Gibbs break in oil is supposed to be run after the dyno for I believe another 500 miles. Re-read their product spec sheet. Then I believe you can switch to what you want.

Engine looks really nice up

Since you had an experienced builder do it, why not ask them what they recommend and follow their whole program.
