That's the weekend after Clay City. Maybe some kind of revenge after what happened last year?

I think we can thank Geoff Turk, Holley's new COO.

He owns and races the Blackbird Challenger in Factory Stock Shootout, NHRA and NMCA.

He also has a Cobra Jet.

Seems to be a pretty cool dude.

I saw that a few days ago too. I’ll be there for sure, just a few miles up the road.

I’ve got parking room for a couple of rigs and a lift in the garage if that helps anyone.

He was out of the country on vacation so I’m sure it’s coming soon.

Sunday racers purse was cut, without warning. No one knew about it until the race was over and they went to get paid. I'm not sure if it was made right later or not.
On a side note to this, they sent me my money in the mail over a month later for my 1/8th final finish on sat & sun in sportsman. I wasn't aware that they were paying back that far and I didn't ask about when I was there. I have never left money at a track before and had it mailed to me later.

Not sure what happened in all the other classes but in NSS yes the purse was cut on Sunday. However they gave back all the entry fees and we split it as we thought was best. We were notified ahead of the race and we had no issue with it. On Saturday there was a full field in all classes but on Sunday it seemed like 1/2 the people went home??? Should have made everyone pay for both days no matter what. The track has to make $$$ or we don't race.

Don’t ask me why but it is nothing new for Mopar guys to race on Saturday and leave Sunday morning. At keystone I sit there and watch them pull out one after another so they have to open the fields up to all makes to cover their loses.

I posted on this last night but it didn't seem to take I guess. It was pretty amazing how ALL the NSS racers agreed to a cut so the track wouldn't loose money. There was no argument amongst anybody.

And I might add, Max Maniac did the math and worked out a good purse structure anyway.

Again, this is a great event at a fun track, I hope even more people show up next year.

Monster Mopar is super excited to be a part of this event.

Save the date and get ready for the Biggest Baddest Mopar Event the South has ever seen.

No imitations or copy cat events here ladies and gents.

No cut purses from the staging lanes. No Brand X cars on the property.

Get ready!

Agreed Tom!

I like the thought of another Monster Mopar race later in the year, but back to back weekends in Kentucky may be tough for me with work.

Some of our local tracks work together and let you drop of your trailer so you don’t have to tow it back again the next weekend. It’s never really affected me but it saved some of the guys hundreds of towing miles.

Back to back to back, NMCA Indy is the following week.
I am going to have to pick and choose, no way I can do all 3.

Can you just run one day? Not likely but Drag Week ends on that friday and we might be able to race just saturday here. Usually pretty done with racing at the point but I have always wanted to do a monster mopar and that is an awesome track.
