How much compression ratio will E85 support? How large a fuel cell do you streeters have in the trunk??

Fwiw, I've ran many 10-1 static CR LS engines at 25-30psi boost on E85.

20 gallon cell. Have flirted with 17 lbs. without problems other than traction.

Really I think the chart is more of a general guideline as it isn't just manifold pressure vs static compression ratio that comes into play, there are a ton of other important variables.

You could have a few differences just comparing 2 turbo combinations to say the chart can't reflect all turbo combinations the same.

Only really checked once. Got 11-12 m.p.g. just driving normal highway speeds with minimal" spirited" (a.k.a. wife on board) driving. This was carbureted on 470 c.i.
9.9:1 compression ratio by the way.

Friend of mine runs it on his 6-71 Blown AWB +.030 440 car and swears by it. Says it drives really nice in traffic, and it keeps everything nice and cool. On the track its working too well as he can't keep the front wheels down in any gear...I have yet to see him make a full pass in the 1/8th..Says the plugs run clean and its working well...

Runs these carbs....

I am at 12.85: 1 , and it really likes it. N/A though.
I have a 22 gallon cell in the trunk , and it sips it pretty quick but I cruise very enthusiastically.

I would run E85 in a heart beat if we could get it here.

My current bracket motor(400 block stroked 4.300 with 4.375 bore) has right at 15.0 to 1 compression, ran it all last year on the local pump E85 that checks to be between E86 up to E89 % depending on which jug it came out of and how long I had that fuel sitting in the jugs realcrazy I have five 5.5 gallon plastic fuel jugs, some had fuel left ln them form the year before realcrazy
I bought 8 gallons of E98 from Wal Mart late last year and I'm going to try and mix it with my local pump E85 so I get E89 or E90 all the time luck
I'm hoping that by having the same ratio percentage I can get a good handle on the tune up and make it go as fast as I can luck

I don't see myself needing more than 15 lbs of boost and maybe 10 lbs to reach my legal cert. Pro Systems is providing a "booster" for my carbs to improve my lean spike at the hit condition. If it does the job I will be gold,,,,,,,,if not I need to be E85 THUMPED!!
The legal limit is 8,50 so I'm a little over a 1/2 second away smoke

If you want to make some serious horsepower, boosted or N/A. mild compression to 14:1 plus, check out Oneethanol.com .
