Oh man this is sweet! I don't know much about the early wedge cars, but this looks like a nice to restore or just put back and drive!

Wow. No bids and not much time left.

Too tough of a restoration for me so I'll pass. I have a '65 Coronet 426W four speed car so I have some idea of the work involved. That one appears to have most of the good parts left on it but it looks too rusty for me to touch. It would take a lot of work to take it all apart and get it dipped or blasted and then you have to put it back together with all new bits. Fully restored they aren't worth enough to justify the expense. I suppose a person could buy it as a driver and just leave the rust.

That's the 3rd one in that color combo I've seen in the last few years.
Love those colors.
The other 2 were restored and IIRC priced in the 40s.

If you pay $10K for that car and it is worth $40K on the auction block when fully restored then there isn't much room to make a profit. It would be super tough to restore that car for $30K. A person would need to do most of the work themselves and have a couple of parts cars on hand. If you farmed out the work you would be underwater by $$$.

Not every car needs to be restored. Mechanically restore they car and drive it.

"The thought of unleashing the Wedge motor with three pedals and that bent floor-shifter renders Viagra unnecessary."

LOL...ain't that statement true! laugh2

And to AndyF.....not every car out there needs to be overrestored, and turned into a trailer queen! I would get all the mechanicals up to par, put disc brakes up front, buff out the paint, add a bumper, replace the carpet, and just have fun and DRIVE IT....simple.

^^^ Agreed, depending on cosmetic condition & one's aesthetic threshhold.

Unfortunately, the supply of near-mint original muscle has pretty much disappeared after 50 years.
