I need a new racing seat.

My car is fast enough now, I can get the belts tight, and it just flattens me on the launch and I could slip out the side as the seat is pretty flat. I need a Kirkey or somthing that won't kill the bank. Been looking on Summit, and there are over 1000 different ones. What do you guys use?

I like my Jazz Pro Stock style seat. The seat cover that I have isn't available anymore. Mine is bolted directly to floor, with metal welded to chassis. There are adjustable seat tracks available.

Jaz akuminum pro stock. Look right, fit right, light. The big Kirkeys are just too big to look right.

I have the summit/jegs style seat in 3 of my cars. I did try a kirkley seat for 2-3 years about 10 years ago. It was okay, but the angle of the seat (Base to back) was not a comfortable as the ones I use now. I'm pretty picky when it comes to my seat and placement. I like to be sitting so everything feels natural and within arms reach, etc. Angle has to be right and the height of it. I've spent many hours making my seat fit how I want.

Actually just pulled the old Jaz out of my car today and am working on installing a Kirkey Pro Street seat. I think it is like the ones Jerico has in his car. Part number is 55170.

I use the Kirkey Pro Seat with the road race brackets because I liked the better adjustability compared to the old floor brackets. The new floor brackets that Kirkey came out with since I installed my seat are much nicer.

OP, do you use a HANS?

A head restraint type seat is really the only seat that should be allowed if you are wearing a race type harness.

This is mine, which I had custom sized, my son has a FG head restraint Racetech.

Note, Dale #3's death occurred with contact with a concrete wall at a closing speed of 42+ mph, resultant forces estimated to be between 65-49 g's during an 80 ms impulse, meaning a 200lb driver will impart maybe 9800lbs of force into the seat/restraint/mounting system.

Reality check, that half the population is smarter then 50% of the people and it's a constantly contested fact.

Fabbed seat mounts. Got the guy lower in the car. Saved 80lb over the factory seats and mounts with the Jaz seats..

Just put this Summit 18" wide with black tweed cover in my Road Runner when I did a complete redo on the interior, perfect for me and love the choce after this race weekend. So happy that old school dune buggy seat is gone. Flaming River tilt wheel makes in and out easy as well.

Kirkey's site seems to be down at the moment but they have a bunch of different seats for different applications.

If your manufacturing preference is North America, they are made in Canada, about an hour from my place.

Hmmmm... work

Anyone got an idea what an OEM E-body bucket seat weighs? Wondering how much difference there might be between a pair of the OEMs and a pair of the ones Mr. CSK posted above, which are about 40#s each.
