My 70 Hemicuda has a riding heigh of about 65 centimeters from the ground to the mid of the wheel opening, but seems way too high from the ground. If I lower the car a couple of centimeters, the look is better, but the 245 60 15 tires rub on the frame rail. What is the correct riding heigh for the car?
Thank you for the help

65 equates to 25. 75 inches

It will be in the service manual.

1 3/16” +\- 1/8” for the front end, so states the service manual, that’s obviously not a ground to wheel lip measurement but a suspension height measured from the lowest point of the torsion bar blade adjuster and the lowest point of the steering knuckle (difference between the two)
After setting ride height my car measured approx 26” from ground to fender. Measusurement will vary a little based on tire size and pressure.

Based on your measurement it appears someone has either the correct ride height or already dropped it a small amount.

Thank you AAR...I had seen the manual and it gave me the same infos. But I am trying to find the heigh with the 245 60 15 tires...and the manual info is very generic. Anybody else can measure his car?

OK.....just measured my 70 440 Cuda. I’m at 61cm (24”). So yeah, I’m significantly lower than you. I run 235/60/15. I recall that when I was running a bunch of measurements a 245/60/15 seemed problematic.

Maybe a little less backspace would help you but then the distance to fender lip soon becomes an issue.

Well......EXCEPT FOR THE TIRES! I think stock was F60-15, which equates closely to a 225/60/15. You have 245/60/15.

The Hemi cars in 70 needed a specially trimmed front fender to clear the 15" wheels and stock tires. Less space there than you might think.

You talk about the tires rubbing on the frame rail, and you talk about ride height. Adjusting the ride height will affect tire-to-FENDER clearance, but it will have very little effect on tire-to-rail clearance.

Tire to rail is dependent on:

Tire size
Wheel offset
Steering travel (it is possible to limit steering travel to solve this, but simply not turning the wheel all the way does the same thing).

Adjusting ride height isn’t going to solve your 245/60’s rubbing the rails issue.
